SC Man Smuggles Fiancee over Canadian Border
BANGOR, Maine (AP) - A South Carolina man who tried to smuggle his Canadian fiancee into the US in the trunk of his car faces three weeks in jail and the prospect of separation from the woman he planned to marry.

The sentence imposed this week on 33-year-old Martin Ellis Crossno of Union was identical to one handed to 35-year-old Dora Arlene Sauveur of Amherst, Nova Scotia, in August.

The couple was arrested at the border on July 19th. That was five days after Sauveur was denied entry to the US for overstaying her visit the previous year.
