SC worker admits to fake Social Security number

GREENVILLE, S.C. --One of the South Carolina poultry plant workers arrested this summer in an illegal immigration probe has pleaded guilty to lying about his Social Security number.

Court records show Daniel Badillo-Baca pleaded guilty in federal court in Greenville on Monday to using a fake Social Security number in his employment paperwork at North Carolina-based House of Raeford Farms.

Last month, seven former workers pleaded guilty to identity theft and admitted they used fake identities to work for the company.

The Charlotte Observer reported in February that plant managers knew some workers were in the U.S. illegally. The trial of a human resources manager accused in the case has been delayed until later this year.
