Republican establishment-types in the House, as well as congressional Democrats, say they are close to finalizing a bipartisan amnesty plan for as many as 3.5 million illegal aliens.

In a comment to the Hill, Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) said a group of House Republicans and Democrats were swiftly crafting an amnesty to push for passage either this week or at the beginning of the new year. “We’ve had very good meetings here with the Problem Solvers Caucus — [Rep.] Will Hurd [R-Texas] has been working on a potential compromise with some Democrats as well, so we could see something as early as tonight,” Curbelo said.

The Republican establishment and Democrats, against the demands of President Trump’s pro-American immigration agenda, have sought to give amnesty to DACA illegal aliens since Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the program would be officially ended in March 2018.

However, House Speaker Ryan has said repeatedly he does not expect an amnesty debate until January.

Curbelo threatened to vote to shut down the federal government if DACA illegal aliens were not given amnesty by the end of the year, despite the negative impact such a plan would have on America’s blue-collar workers and middle class.

In a discussion with the open borders lobby weeks ago, Curbelo said:

I will make some news here of particular interest to our friends in the fourth estate. I am announcing today that I will not support any appropriations bill that funds the government beyond December 31st unless we get this DACA issue resolved.

And by the way, it doesn’t have to be included in the spending bill, but it has to get done. Again, as long as it gets done I’m okay with a stand-alone bill, if it’s part of another package, let’s just get it done.

A DACA amnesty would be greatly out of line with not only Trump’s core base of populist-nationalist supporters, but also with the majority of Americans.

Polling conducted as recently as last week by Politico and Morning Consult found that roughly two out of five — or 37 percent — swing voters said DACA amnesty should not be a priority for Congress. Additionally, only 18 percent of independents say DACA amnesty is an “extremely important priority” for them.

In contrast, 25 percent of swing voters want the federal government to prioritize reducing prescription drug prices and reducing the number of Americans dying from opioid abuse, two issues Trump promised to his supporters that he would tackle under his populist administration.

The implications of a DACA amnesty on Americans, especially those in the working and middle class, would be enormous, specifically for the process known as “chain migration,” where newly amnestied illegal aliens would be able to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. with them.

A DACA amnesty deal has the potential to trigger a larger chain migration over the next decade that could bring anywhere from 1 to 19 million new foreign nationals to the U.S., further crowding out American workers from the labor force and driving down U.S. wages.

Should the House plan to give amnesty to DACA illegal aliens look similar to the DREAM Act, the failed expansive amnesty plan being considered by the Republican-controlled Congress once again, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has warned of the serious financial burden it would have on American taxpayers.

As Breitbart News reported, aside from costing Americans at least $26 billion in ten years, nearly one in five amnestied illegal aliens under the DREAM Act would go on food stamps, also known as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) welfare benefits:

About 17.5 percent of DREAM Act illegal aliens, or 280,000 former illegals, would be on food stamps by 2027 — even though they are young and employable — according to the CBO. Twenty thousand of those illegal aliens would be immediately eligible for food stamps after the amnesty.

The CBO estimates that under the DREAM Act, American taxpayers would spend $2.3 billion just on food stamps for the newly amnestied illegal aliens between 2018 to 2027, with more illegal aliens expected to join the welfare program after that period.

They should be asking how many Americans are on food stamps because of DACA's and their parents? Millions. Report that statistic, CBO. How many Americans are on food stamps because of illegal immigration overall? TENS OF MILLIONS. Report that statistic, CBO.

CBO is worthless. They aren't worth one cent of whatever we're paying them. Just shut it down and save the money.
