In a new exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker—a 2016 GOP presidential candidate—walked through his plan to secure the U.S. border with Mexico and detailed how he believes in protecting the wages of American workers when it comes to setting the levels of how many people to bring into the United States.
Walker also walked through his concerns with radical Islam, how he would go after Planned Parenthood by not just defunding it but by stripping its tax-free status, and how he’s fought against cronyism and corruption throughout his career as a public servant.
We print the full unedited interview here:
BREITBART NEWS NETWORK (BNN): What would you do about building a wall on the southern border to stop the inflow of illegal aliens?
SCOTT WALKER (SW): We absolutely have to secure our southern border through better infrastructure, personnel, and technology. I’ve visited the border and learned from border state governors how crime, gangs, and international criminal organizations have overwhelmed our border communities. It’s clear we must secure the border first and foremost.
It is a matter of public safety, national security, and sovereignty. We are a great nation. We can secure our border.
BNN: What limits on legal immigration would you support while millions of Americans are unemployed? Some U.S. Senators, including Sessions, Cotton, Perdue and others, support a moratorium on most immigration until Americans are back to work and unemployment and wages are under control. Do you agree?
SW: Right now, we have arbitrary limits on immigration. We are a nation of immigrants and should make our legal immigration policy based on what’s best for American working families and their wages in a way that will improve the economy. We should take our current economic situation into account when making these decisions. Who can be against that? American workers and their families will always be my priority.
BNN: President Walker would put most of his emphasis on what specific area of national security?
SW: Our number one priority must be ensuring the safety of all Americans. Right now, that means protecting Americans from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism. The next president must show bold leadership–not only calling the threat what it is but also fighting and winning against our enemies. On behalf of my children and yours, I would rather take the fight to radical Islamic terrorists before they strike us at home.
BNN: You have a strong resume on taking on public sector unions —can you tell us about what efforts you made to combat cronyism, influence peddling, and corruption as Milwaukee County Executive or Governor?
SW: We’ve made huge strides in Wisconsin in creating open and transparent government. For the first time in state history, voters have real time access through our Open Book website to state spending and contracts all the way down to expenditures of $100. We’ve been rated as one of the most transparent state governments, in part because of our Open Book initiative. As governor I also signed into law an earmark transparency requirement, so that every budget earmark must be listed, with the beneficiary of the pork, before the budget is signed. In addition, we’ve created Offices of Inspector General in our state agencies to search out fraudulent activity.
As County Executive, I fired all of the top managers and hired people based on merit. During my time in office, I gave more than $370,000 of my salary back to the taxpayers because the previous County Executive was making more than the Governor.
BNN: Would you both defund Planned Parenthood and take away its tax free status?
SW: Yes. I am proud to have defunded Planned Parenthood here in Wisconsin and believe Congress should do it too. These recent videos are absolutely horrifying and disgusting. Planned Parenthood must be investigated. That investigation should examine its tax exempt status and the apparent criminal wrongdoing, not just by certain individuals, but across Planned Parenthood’s whole network of affiliates. Hillary Clinton shamefully said she was proud to stand by Planned Parenthood, proving once again that she’s out of touch with everyday Americans.

Scott Walker was interviewed by Breitbart about border security and illegal immigration. Here's what he said:
BREITBART NEWS NETWORK (BNN): What would you do about building a wall on the southern border to stop the inflow of illegal aliens
Read carefully. Walker didn't answer the question about building a wall. One of the scams the government employs is to talk about an "electronic border" where a camera or a drone substitutes for a fence or wall. We need a fence or wall, not "infrastructure and technology," whatever that means.
BNN: What limits on legal immigration would you support while millions of Americans are unemployed?
SW: Right now, we have arbitrary limits on immigration. We are a nation of immigrants and should make our legal immigration policy based on what’s best for American working families and their wages in a way that will improve the economy. We should take our current economic situation into account when making these decisions. Who can be against that? American workers and their families will always be my priority.
Once again, the question was not answered. Walker gave clearer answers to other questions, stating that he defunded Planned Parenthood and supported doing that nationally. But for some reason, he refuses to answer simple questions about building a fence or reducing immigration.
Given his past back-and-forth record on immigration, you would think he would be more forthright. Unfortunately, his latest answers raise troubling questions about his commitment to secure the border. Walker says he wants the border secure; why then will he not support building a physical barrier?
It makes me think that his 2002-2014 position on illegal immigrations represents his real view, not his 2015 positions. Given his past record and still current equivocations, how can we really believe that he will secure the border and reduce excessive immigration?
