SOUTH DAKOTA LEGISLATURE KILLS BILL TO BLOCK ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM POST SECONDARY EDUCATION

The South Dakota Senate Education Committee has stopped a proposal to block illegal immigrants from attending post secondary institutions, receiving grants, financial aid, or even being allow resident tuition. Senator Stace Nelson sponsored the bill.

"This is a decision that should be made by the legislature on whether we're going to have a sanctuary college system in the state of South Dakota. This should not be decided by the Board of Regents, it shouldn't be decided by students at the state college, it should not be decided by those who are here illegally," said Nelson.

Those who work directly with colleges and universities in the state say this is not an issue of concern in the state of South Dakota.

Education Committee Chair Jim Bolin of Canton says just a few students who are undocumented are already paying full non-resident tuition.

The bill was defeated by a vote of five to two.

If they do not have a Student Visa...then NO school.

No two sets of rules for those that apply to come legally and another set for ILLEGAL aliens.

14th Amendment requires equal protection under the law, that means equal treatment. Allowing illegal aliens to attend school in our country discriminates against foreign students who come here on student visas as well as American citizens and legal immigrants who wanted those seats.

My Granddaughter is third generation AMERICAN....she does NOT get special treatment or free college .American CITIZENS are the ones who should be "Special"

The five SD lawmakers to voted to protect and aid illegal immigrants need to be removed from office by voters and charged with federal crimes by the feds.
