LAREDO, Texas (AP) - Agents at the South Texas border have seized nearly $482,000 hidden in a vehicle attempting to enter Mexico.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say a 43-year-old man from Laredo has been taken into custody in the undeclared currency investigation.

Authorities at the Laredo Port of Entry say the cash was confiscated Monday from a pickup truck at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge.

Investigators didn't immediately say where the bundles of money were found in the vehicle or release further details on the driver.

Any cash adding up to $10,000 or more must be declared at the U.S. border to make sure the funds are not tied to criminal activity.
