Ellis Island “Feet People” Exhibit Blasts Militarizing Mexican Border, Deportations
MAY 08, 2015
The Obama administration is injecting its open border agenda to the federal landmark that once served as the gateway for legal immigration with a new gallery blasting the militarization of the U.S.-Mexico border and the deportation of “unauthorized immigrants.”
Located in the New York Harbor and situated near the iconic Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and its structures are federally-owned landmarks operated by the National Park Service (NPS), which is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior. From 1892 to 1954 the island received and processed around 12 million immigrants, mostly Europeans fleeing war, religious persecution and famine. Among them were oppressed Jews from Eastern Europe and czarist Russia in search of a better life.
This was more than half a century ago. In the 1980s the building that served as the nation’s chief gateway was restored and subsequently reopened as the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, a “symbol of this nation’s immigrant heritage,” according to the U.S. government. The museum exhibits have for decades chronicled Ellis Island’s role in immigration history and offered individual stories of brave men and women leaving their homeland to seek new opportunities in an unknown country. This includes a baggage room where belongings were inspected daily, a registry room where the new arrivals underwent medical and legal examinations and dormitories that were filled to capacity nightly with temporarily detained immigrants.
Soon this historical federal landmark will expand to tell the plight of illegal immigrants that annually cross into the U.S. through the Mexican border. The new section will be called “Feet People” and a mainstream newspaper recently got a glimpse of it. The Border Patrol “began militarizing the 2,000-mile United States-Mexico border and deporting any unauthorized immigrants in 1993,” the new Ellis Island Immigration Museum panel says. “This fortification has pushed men, women and even children, who seek to cross on foot without documentation, even deeper into remote and dangerous terrain. They cross deserts and mountain ranges on foot and swim contaminated irrigation ditches. They crawl through sewer pipes and tunnels. To find work and reunite with family members, hundreds risk their lives every week to reach the United States.”
The new gallery exhibit further explains that, until half century ago, when caps were imposed, Mexican workers had routinely crossed into the United States to fill agricultural, construction and service jobs because there were no immigration quotas on other independent nations in the Americas. Half a century ago there was no internet or computers and life-saving equipment such as seat belts and infant car seats didn’t exist either. Nor does the U.S. government take in millions of European immigrants like it did from 1892 to 1954 via Ellis Island. The immigration policies of half a century ago don’t necessarily serve in the nation’s best interest, which is why they have been changed.
The outrageous new pro-illegal immigrant exhibit was created by an Obama appointee who’s married to one of the president’s foreign ambassadors. His name is Edwin Schlossberg and a few years ago Obama appointed him to Commission of Fine Arts. Schlossberg’s wife, Caroline Kennedy, is Obama’s ambassador to Japan. Schlossberg runs a lucrative company called ESI Design that creates interactive environments for learning and communicating. The firm claims to specialize in integrated experiential museums and recently created the software for an exhibit at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. The deceased Massachusetts senator, affectionately known as Ted, continues receiving posthumous honors from the Obama administration despite his scandal-plagued career which included letting his mistress drown after recklessly driving into a pond, renting a brothel for an entire night in Chile and meeting with communists.

As countries developed, they made rules.
The Mexicans refuse to recognize the rules because the Mexican government is getting sooo much money pumped into the country and it takes the heat off of their socialist caste based policies. Hillary and the World Bank signed on to a deal in 2010 to give the same bonuses to the El Salvador,Guatemala and Honduras. Those governments get loans which pad the pockets of the Socialist politicians based on how much money their illegals can remit back "home".Last edited by Newmexican; 05-09-2015 at 06:17 AM.

That really is outrageous to put something like that in the Ellis Island Museum. There is no comparison at all between the Europeans who came to America in those days and illegal aliens sneaking into our country today. Only a very very narcissistic "community" would think of themselves in the same way. Oh wait, this is the same "community" that thinks their violation of US immigration law is comparable to the plight of black slaves and Obama Amnesty is like Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Well, it's amazing that Caroline Kennedy married someone who would be involved in such an insult to the American People and those who came here legally between 1892 and 1954 through Ellis Island.

We need to do an ALIPAC Press Release on this, one may have been done back in 2012, if so, I think we need another one now so people can understand how these international agreements prevail above our domestic law. It might help those of us opposing the TPP as well as illegal immigration.
