Sen. Sessions: Immigration reform v. fundraising

    Immigration reform v. fundraising

Looks like the chance that Sen. Jeff Sessions would have to choose between killing immigration reform and hanging out in Mobile with President Bush has subsided.

Democratic leaders told CQ this morning that they'll probably have the first key vote on immigration on Friday, one day after Sessions' fundraiser with the president.

That said, the schedule still gives Bush a lot of quality arm-twisting time with Sessions, one of the leading opponents to Bush's plan. It will be interesting whether Bush can convince Sessions to back down. My prediction? Doubtful.
