Gang illegal immigrant assault police unprovoked

According to the Fredrick County, Maryland Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Morton was in his car investigating an unrelated traffic accident when Jose Misael Reyes-Reyes, 18, in an unprovoked attack began

hitting him in the face through his partial open car window.

Deputy Morton managed to push Reyes away form his car with his door; the deputy subdued him and placed handcuffs on him, in a attempt to escape Reyes started to kick Deputy Morton.

The deputy regained control and waited for assistance. Reyes was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering,

and two counts of disorderly intoxication.

Further investigation on Reyes showed his arrested in June of 2015 on charges of malicious destruction of property and May 2015 on a charge related to carrying a concealed deadly weapon, it also showed that

he was in the United States illegally and was validated MS 13 gang member.

Reyes had been released on an ICE bond due to an encounter by U. S. Border Patrol and was awaiting a deportation hearing.

In light of this recent criminal attack by Reyes, yesterday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte have sent a letter to Jeb Johnson,

Homeland Security Secretary for detailed information on Jose Misael Reyes-Reyes.

They questioned the reason Reyes was released on bond, was any state, local or federal jurisdiction or agency notify about his past and/or present criminal record and his release from custody, whether he had

applied for any immigration benefits, and was there any prior removal orders.

It was requested that a response to their inquiry be no later then Nov. 20, 2015 if not earlier.
