WOW! GOP Senator: Trump Supporters Did Not Really Want a Wall When They Voted for Trump to Build a Wall

    Jim Hoft Mar 1st, 2017 8:45 pm

Senator John Cornyn (Rep- Texas) doubled, then tripled down tonight when asked if Trump voters wanted a border wall… Senator Cornyn told Tucker Carlson Trump voters didn’t really want a wall.

    This was UNBELIEVABLE!

Tucker Carlson: You were quoted the other day saying you’re not for a wall. The people of Texas are not for a wall. What gives you that impression considering he won your state be 9 points, pretty definitive win running on a wall? Why do you think he would not be for that?

Senator John Cornyn: …There are some areas where infrastructure is important, barriers so to speak. But it’s really a combination of personnel, technology and infrastructure. We’re working right now with the Department of Homeland Security on a plan to actually implement the president’s goal of securing the border. It’s long overdue. I fully support that….

Tucker Carlson: But he said… I want a wall, a big beautiful wall. That was a promise he made on his first day until his last. I want a wall. So why would you think that voters in your state, exempting the cliffs, why would they not want a wall too? Didn’t they vote for that?

Sen. Cornyn: I don’t think, I think they voted for border security. How we accomplish that I think they expect us to use our best judgement to try to accomplish…

Tucker Carlson: So you think your voters when they voted for Trump they weren’t voting for the wall he promised they were voting for Republican senators to figure out how to secure the border but they didn’t really mean a wall when they voted for a guy who promised a wall?

Sen. Cornyn: They expect us to use our best judgement and experience to accomplish that goal. And a wall, I got to tell you Tucker, is not going to stop illegal immigration…

    Wow!
He’s openly defying the Texas voters and could care less what they think!

Cornyn, here's the straight story. Americans would prefer not to have to spend billions of dollars on a wall or man it or secure it or guard it or maintain it. Of course we wouldn't. We like wide open spaces. We like the idea of unwalled borders right up to the point when it's clear we need a wall. Sadly, because of the horrible behavior of Mexico and people from other countries, we have to build a wall. There is no other choice at this point in time. There is no other solution to manage illegal drugs, human trafficking, human smuggling, illegal immigration and other criminal enterprises infecting our country over the Southern Border. Everyone has known this since 2006 when Congress passed the Fence Act.

We want a nice attractive wall with pretty landscaping, something that says in a polite and attractive manner "This is the United States- KEEP OUT".

They still have no idea what is going on and why Trump got elected. They live in their own world they created.

I heard someone on the radio today say many never watched a Trump rally or heard any of his speeches, last night was probably the first many heard him. May have been the case with Cornyn, so many are in their own bubble world.

Yes, Jean, I'm sure that's true, because you know I would post the follow up views from those Rallies filmed by RSBN and although there were a lot of views, they were in the tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, not tens of millions so all those voters 140 million or so, never saw a Trump Rally. Unless you saw the Trump Rallies, you really can't know or fully understand Donald Trump unless you've been a follower of him for many many years, but even then, you really won't know his full positions on issues. Far more people know him through biased news clips or from his Twitter and Facebook accounts, but those are short and small glimpses.

Sen. Cornyn and the folks he represents along the border need to understand that this is an issue of national security. Some folks living along the border don't want a fence because of various reason. I'd say a few of those reasons are because they have family and friends living on the other side of the Rio Grande, farmers and ranchers want access to the river for crops and livestock, cities along the border would incur a negative impact on their local economy. While those may be good reasons for those folks, it's not a good enough reason to risk the security of our nation.

As cruel as it may sound, occasionally the best interest of the few have to be sacrificed for the best interest of the many. An inconvenience suffered by a few is a small thing when considering the safety and security of an entire nation!

The ranching and farming issue is a false flag. I grew up in cattle country. Everyone fenced their properties, they fenced their properties within their properties to keep grazing off of one section to allow it to regrow while the cattle were contained in other sections that needed to be eaten down. Cattle farmers not on the borders have to provide water for their cattle, they build ponds, drill wells with automatic fillers, all types of things. That's all bunk what Cornyn is talking about and every farmer and rancher in the United States knows that.

Cornyn better back off this or it's going to start looking very suspicious, if you get my drift.
