Silence won’t thwart deportations, attorney says
Silence won’t thwart deportations, attorney says
Paul Giblin
A new strategy being used by illegal immigrants in an effort to avoid deportation has little, if any, real impact, according to an attorney who works to help the immigrants. The strategy calls for illegal immigrants to remain silent when law enforcement officials ask them about their immigration status. Elias Bermudez, an immigrant rights activist and Spanish-language radio host, has been advocating the tactic since Monday.
Attorney Kara Hartzler told the Tribune that the strategy is legal, but unlikely to alter deportation proceedings.
“Anyone who is asked about their immigration status has the right to just not answer. I mean, you’re required to basically give your name, but you have a right to not answer questions,â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Racial profiling can also easily arise when an ethnic community allows half of its members to have come into the country either illegally or as overstays.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Actually, they are being deported becaused of the inablility to identify themselves as an American citizen.
Citizens bound by the Constitutuion have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney(defense) in criminal court. Illegal immigration is a civil court offense and those rules don't apply. If their attorney doesn't defend them properly, that's the alien's problem.
Bye bye and I'm glad you didn't waste the courts time with lame excuses!

Racial profiling is just another of those feel good type rules, laws, etc., that have gotten put into place in this country that sounds OK at the time - but is used to stop law enforcment.
Everytime the American people demand some new law, they need to think about all the ways these laws or rules can be used against us.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
