Sheriff seeks governor’s support to stem employment of illegal immigrants

HAMILTON — Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones has long tried to get support for curbing the flow of illegal immigrants to his jurisdiction. State legislators are now working toward that end.
Jones is seeking tougher laws that would get illegal immigrants out of the work force.
In a letter to Gov. John Kasich, Jones asked the governor to get on board with some legislators who are proposing resurrecting legislation that died in the last General Assembly and initiating new measures.
“Illegal immigrants are causing a host of problems to the economy throughout the United States and Ohio is not exempt... Some are receiving worker’s compensation benefits and public assistance for food, shelter and medical care,â€
