Rubio 'aligned with Obama' on immigration (ALIPAC)

Rubio 'aligned with Obama' on immigration

Watchdog also gives 'F' to Boehner's wannabe replacement

Leo Hohmann | Archive Leo Hohmann is a news editor for WND. He has been a reporter and editor at several suburban newspapers in the Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina, areas and also served as managing editor of Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh, North Carolina.

    U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

U.S. Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, has been a thorn in the side of conservatives for years, but the front-runner to replace him as speaker of the House subscribes to the very same open-borders philosophy, according to two groups that keep score of votes on immigration policy.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, or ALIPAC, sent out a release Tuesday saying it will fight against the selection of Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., as Boehner’s replacement.

NumbersUSA, another group that lobbies for cuts in the current record influx of immigrants into the U.S., also opposes McCarthy. The group, which grades every congressman, gives McCarthy a D- for his overall record on immigration issues. He gets a grade of C for reducing amnesty incentives; an F- for reducing unnecessary work visas; and an F- for challenging the status quo on immigration.

McCarthy is also on ALIPAC’s list of “Eric Cantor-like” Republicans who talk as if they are against amnesty but then vote otherwise, said William Gheen, president of the organization. Cantor was the Republican congressman from Virginia defeated by tea-party challenger David Brat.
“He (McCarthy) is on our list for supporting the ‘clean DHS bill’ to fund Obama’s obviously unconstitutional executive actions granting unilateral amnesty to 11 million illegals,” Gheen said. “He pushed the button when he didn’t have to, to provide Obama with the money to carry out his illegal orders.”

Obama could not have shut down the Department of Homeland Security, or at least not for very long, if the GOP had refused to capitulate and defunded his executive amnesty plans, Gheen said.

Gheen said ALIPAC would support any Republican for the speakership who has not participated in what he calls the “full conspiracy” of the GOP establishment to support President Obama on immigration and secret trade deals that are killing job opportunities for Americans and causing the deaths of many others at the hands of criminal illegal immigrants.

“One of the things that really needs to happen is the anti-amnesty Republicans need to band together and form their own caucus in Congress,” he said.

If they don’t, they could find themselves targeted in the next primary, because of the amount of money that is flowing from backers of corporate interests.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has already announced they’re going to target somewhere around 50 Republicans in Congress in the primaries and take them down, and those are going to be the ones who voted against Obama’s amnesty plan,” Gheen said. “One is going to be Walter Jones here in North Carolina, and also Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) and Steve King (R-Iowa).

“They’ve organized and are going to spend millions of dollars to wipe out every member of Congress that’s like Walter Jones, Mo Brooks and Steve King, and we’re the only active PAC on this issue and we don’t have enough people, we don’t have enough funds, and we need help. We need some more power here, we really do.”

ALIPAC not only sent out an alert for its members to oppose McCarthy, but is also calling for them to oppose Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in his bid to win the GOP presidential nomination. Rubio’s stock has been rising in the GOP field as that of fellow Floridian Jeb Bush has been falling.
Gheen said ALIPAC, NumbersUSA and other conservative immigration groups need to go on the offense and target pro-amnesty Republicans, putting up conservatives to challenge them in next year’s GOP primaries.

“We’ve got the list, we’ve got the targets, we’ve got the plan, and we have till October and November to get these candidates organized.”
Some candidates are clever in disguising their true stance on immigration, he said.

“Mitch McConnell voted against Rubio’s amnesty bill (SB 744) in 2013. He worked to pass the bill behind the scene, then voted against it because he was up for re-election in 2014 and he knew his constituents back in Kentucky would be very upset with him if he voted for amnesty. So he worked with Rubio and McCain to pass Senate Bill 744, then voted against it to trick voters back home.”

ALIPAC is calling on McConnell to resign his leadership position “in disgrace” just as Boehner did in the House.

Gheen said that in 2013 “the word came down from the power brokers – Gates, Soros, Bloomberg – that all of their hidden assets must step forward and go on the record in support of their amnesty bill, put forth by Rubio, and all of a sudden a bunch of Republicans stepped forward and we had to rescind 10 or 15 endorsements of lawmakers that we thought were against amnesty.”

Rubio’s bill would have quadrupled the number of H1B work visas handed out to foreign tech workers from places like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India and Yemen while also created uncapped green cards for universities. The clincher was the bill’s plan to legalize millions of illegals.

“Several Republicans were hidden assets and came out and said ‘I’m for a path to citizenship’ or ‘legal status’ for Illegal immigrants,” Gheen said.
“And McCarthy was one of those.”

That bill would create a second-class work status for illegals short of full citizenship. But that was a ruse that would have been disastrous, Gheen said, allowing the courts to “finish the job” of making illegals into voters.

“Then when that second-class status gets struck down by a court, which everyone knows it will, these Republicans can say, ‘Oh that’s not what our bill wanted, that’s those damn activist judges.’ And, of course, that’s when America goes into hospice. That’s when it’s game over because the new immigrants are going to form a new voting bloc for Democrats.”

Gheen said he comes in contact with a lot of Rubio supporters who claim “he just supports this thing and not that thing,” but “they all lead to the same place – voting rights for illegals. And they vote 8 to 1 Democrat, giving socialists deep control of all branches of government indefinitely. The corporate-sponsored, planned socialist overthrow of the U.S. will be made complete.”

“They don’t want an America that stays self-governed,” he continued. “They’re creating socialist voters for the socialist overthrow of the United States, and it’s being supported by the traitors from within. We know Obama is selling us out, but what’s killing us is these lying, treasonous Republicans telling us they’re one thing and then acting like another.”
