Gunbattle Raging in Matamoros

MATAMOROS, MEXICO - A gunbattle is raging Thursday between suspected cartel members and the Mexican military in Matamoros.

The shootout between cartels and the Mexican military has been going on for almost six hours. Mexican investigators say the shooting started around noon Thursday in the industrial part of Matamoros. We have reports of helicopters involved in the shootout.

Investigators say two drug cartel members are dead and five are hurt in the gunbattle.

There have been other gunbattles like this in the last few weeks. The Zetas and Gulf Cartel are battling for control of Matamoros, a major drug corridor.
