WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Investigators have taken computers from four people who were believed to be involved in a scheme to sell fake Social Security cards and other ID documents to illegal immigrants.

In all, five people were charged with 34 felony counts in the probe of a fake document ring operating out of a mobile home in Winston-Salem. Officials with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles said one person arrested appeared to be a man purchasing a false identity document.

Officials received a tip in September that led to surveillance of the mobile home on the southeastern side of the city.
