Chase ended feet from police department

PHARR - The driver involved in an overnight chase is accused of smuggling illegal immigrants.

DPS troopers say they tried to pull over a grey Ford F-150 just north of San Manuel. They tell us the driver, Gonzalo Villarreal, refused to stop and led police on a high speed chase south on 281.

The pursuit ended just feet away from the Pharr Police Department.

Villarreal was arrested at the scene. Troopers found at least two illegal immigrants inside the truck.

They've been turned over to Border Patrol.
