Hawaii has a miniscule illegal alien population numerically and per centage wise. Despite his use of the term R**********R he has a real issue. The cost of living is high and there is plenty of unemployment and of poverty there. There are also contractors who do not want to compete against immigration law violators. Before a dismissal of Rod Tam it would be good to make sure that the underlying problem is addressed. The best way for Hispanics to fight the polarization is by not giving the illegal aliens support.

It's computer generated filtering for a term that indicates a person's obverse has been in the Rio Grande.

    Richard,

You hit the nail on the head with this statement.

I believe the support the IA's are getting from Hispanic groups is what angers Americans most because it shows a flagrant disregard for our sovereignty and our laws.

How many times have any of us read about La Raza,LULAC,MALDEF or other Hispanic groups raising hell about Reconquistas and other Hispanics making racial or hateful remarks against white or black Americans ? Zero,Nada !!!!

BTW how did these IA's get to Hawaii ?They must have been helped by someone, maybe the builders ?

The contractors in Hawaii are often subsidiaries of companies also active on the West Coast. My famiy includes a contractor whose headquarters are located in central Washington but who have been active on Maui for fifty years. A lot of them are Californian. It is more likely the ilegal aliens were hired in California than in Hawaii or in Mexico.

Exactly right. It's not hard to tell the difference between breaking the law and color. We didn't just write these laws to target hispanics. They've been here all along. For everyone....yet they act like they were just instituted against them.

[quote]Marie Villa, editor of the Hawaii Hispanic News, was at first dumbfounded and then offended by the use of the word. Ms. Villa had thought that her island home was above this type of public racism. According to Villa, “Hawaii is home to about 100,000 Hispanics from Puerto Rican to Mexican,â€
