Sobering facts and figures on illegal immigration

You might call illegal migration into America a slow moving freight train that features no brakes. The engineer can’t stop it because he’s sleeping at the wheel. The passengers on the train don’t notice the added baggage cars nor the cost. They paid their fare and think the road ahead is clear.

Unfortunately, the road head grows more dangerous as to population growth by adding 138 million more people to the train. The environmental consequences grow as to carbon footprint, ecological footprint, quality of life and lowered standard of living for the passengers. But no one seems to understand the realities of adding that 138 million people onto the train or into the United States of America.

For starters:

· "In October 2008, the illegal immigrant population stood at 11.9 million according to the Pew Hispanic Center."(www.NumbersUSA.org).

· "If immigration continues at current levels, the nation's population will increase from 301 million today to 468 million in 2060 - a 167 million, or 56% increase.

· "There are approximately 7.7 million illegal aliens employed in U.S. jobs in 2008."

· "In 2007, E-Verify, a system to determine legal employment eligibility, received about 3 million queries, of which 157,000 were found to be unauthorized to work despite having previously evaded the paper version of the I-9 process, thus stopping their illegal employment." · " Illegal immigrants collectively represent a group that is a significant menace to the public. 80% have committed serious crimes in addition to immigration violations, and 40% have violent crime histories." · "25-50% of all gangsters arrested in the criminal gang suppression efforts in northern and western Virginia are estimated to be illegal immigrants."(Study for Immigration Studies).

· "Gang investigators in Virginia estimate that 90% of the members of MS-13, the most notorious immigrant gang, are illegal immigrants."

· "The DREAM Act also would have set in motion a process for potentially amnestying 2.1 million illegal immigrants, not counting the 1.4 million parents and siblings who would also likely have been legalized." (Center for Immigration Studies, www.cis.org).

Depending on the actual numbers of people to gain amnesty, the Heritage Foundation, www.HeritageFoundation.org expects the costs for amnesty to be $3 to $5 trillion dollars. Those figures include immigrants’ ability to tap into social security systems, education, welfare, food stamps, incarceration and medical care.

To add more American disgrace, I am very much aware of an American Indian, more native to America likely than any of us, out of work, diagnosed with cancer, applying for assistance. Getting help even with food stamps was doomed, so the applicant suggested that she was one of the minority. "Oh no." the social worker responds, "we only get one or two native american applications a year. That is not enough here to count as a minority."


Folks, get down into the trenches and discover the real discriminations going on!! It is not happening to illegal aliens, it is being done daily to real Americans. (I am of european descent, should it make a difference to anyone.)


I know of another case where an older American needed artery surgery. Only social security for income, and not old enough for medicare. Hospital refused admission without some form of payor on board, even the hospitals chief of surgery encouraged the hospital to take him (was that Dr's patient.) Finally when the hospital's social worker said there is not one way that I can help you, the frustrated patient responded, "I bet if I was an illegal you'd help me." Unashamedly the hispanic social worker replied "Oh, yes I have many programs for those. You would have been taken care of."
