West Desert Border Patrol Agents Present 30 Sex Offenders for Prosecution in FY 2011
(Monday, November 21, 2011)
Imperial Valley, Calif. – In fiscal year 2011, Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector arrested and charged over 30 illegal alien sex offenders after they attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
All apprehensions took place at, or close to the border near the cities of Calexico and El Centro Calif. Each of the sex offenders -- sometimes traveling in groups with women and children -- are males and have criminal history for felony convictions that range anywhere from sexual intercourse with a child, to rape and sodomy. The men, who in many cases have extensive criminal history, are processed for wants and warrants and then presented for prosecution on federal immigration charges.
Chief Patrol Agent, Jeffrey A. Calhoon of the El Centro Sector, stated, “Border Patrol Agents are committed to improving the quality of life in our communities. By interdicting and accurately identifying all illegal entrants, we ensure the security of our borders and the safety of our communities.â€NO AMNESTY

And they catch 1 in 5 garden variety illegals. Unless sex offenders are really slow runners , compared to the others, somewhere around 120 got by them and are roaming the streets now.
