Illegals Trapped in Storm Drain

Many reportedly use drain to sneak into U.S.

BROWNSVILLE - Almost a dozen people trying to illegally cross into the U.S. got trapped in a storm drain.

It happened over the weekend. Maria Espinoza tells us she's never seen so many Border Patrol agents and fire crews crowd the drain.

She says she thought someone had collapsed inside.

The fire department hasn't finished their reports about the incident yet. And despite the reports from witnesses, Border Patrol agents won't acknowledge they were in the area.

NEWSCHANNEL 5 took a closer look at the drain. We spotted trash and leaves. But we also saw clothes, cups, and other signs people had been in the area.

The storm drain is a path U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents have already figured out. NEWSCHANNEL 5 uncovered its use a year ago.

People in area continue to tell us of all the illegals they see in the area.

This is so disgusting, can you imagine the type of diseases from the untreated storm water and these people are practically bathing in it?.....gross. And some idiot restaurant, hotel, and families hire these people to work handling food, and even babysitting children?
