Arrested Rochester DACA recipient is a nightmare-generator, not a dreamer

    By Thomas Lifson
    American Thinker

Abigail Hernández, the DACA beneficiary arrested last Friday in Rochester, New York for making a terroristic threat, does not seem at all grateful for the special consideration afforded her by then-president Barack Obama.

    WHAM-TV reported:
Rochester Police have arrested a 21-year-old student in the Rochester City School District after they said she made a credible threat against East High School.
Rochester Deputy Mayor Dr. Cedric Alexander and Deputy Chief La'Ron Singletary spoke at a news conference Friday afternoon.
According to Alexander, police were notified on February 16 about the threat being made against East High School. Staff within the Rochester City School District called police at 5:08 p.m about a threat posted on the East High School Facebook page. The threat said, "I'm coming tomorrow morning and I'm going to shoot all of ya [b‑‑‑‑‑‑]."

Unlike Sheriff Israel in Broward County, Rochester Police took the threat seriously and tracked her down.

RPD Deputy Chief La'Ron Singletary said it took investigators days to arrest track down because she made the threats from a fictitious social media account. It took time for investigators to track down the person to whom the account belonged.

Now facing serious jail time if convicted, Hernández demonstrates the absolute need to avoid blanket amnesty and the folly of Obama's blanket deferral of action. The excuse her parents are offering suggests she would be near the bottom of any ranking on desirability as an immigrant.

Justin Murphy of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle:

Abigail Hernandez, the Rochester woman charged last week with making a terroristic threat in Rochester, has very low cognitive capability and is incapable of carrying out the sort of threat she's charged with making, her parents said Sunday.
The 21-year-old woman is a student at Edison Tech High School. She came to the United States from Mexico at age 3 with her parents, they said, and qualifies for "dreamer" status under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) rules.
"She's not right mentally — she doesn't pick up what people say," her mother, who asked not to be identified by name, said in Spanish. "She's very dependent on me."

Assuming we taxpayers avoid the burden of an expensive incarceration of Hernández, we can anticipate paying subsidies for health care, food stamps, and various other forms of welfare for which a person unable to provide for herself qualifies. John Binder of Breitbart explains:
Under a DACA amnesty, American taxpayers would be left with a $26 billion bill. About one in five DACA illegal aliens, after an amnesty, would end up on food stamps, while at least one in seven would go on Medicaid. Since DACA's inception under Obama, more than 2,100 illegal aliens have been kicked off the program after it was revealed that they were either criminals or gang members.

Also, as Breitbart News reported, only four percent of DACA illegal aliens have completed a college education, making the DACA population far less likely than the native American population to finish college with a degree.
Another 25 percent of DACA illegal aliens, Breitbart News reported, are "functionally illiterate" in the English language, despite being touted by the open borders lobby as being highly-educated and highly-skilled.

By rejecting President Trump's generous offer of citizenship to DACA beneficiaries (and hundreds of thousands of others) who pass screening, the Democrats are in effect telling Americans that we must pony up vast sums of money to subsidize less rhetorically violent illegal aliens. Let them run on that.

She was not a student of the school. She was 21 year old, illegal alien with a firearm....They don't know if they are going o charge her as an adult? Were her parents illegal aliens also? Where are the illegal alien in possession of a firearm charges?
This story is full of contradictions.

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — Rochester Police have arrested a 21-year-old student in the Rochester City School District after they said she made a credible threat against East High School.

The threat said, "I’m coming tomorrow morning and I’m going to shoot all of ya bitches.”

RPD Deputy Chief La'Ron Singletary said it took investigators days to arrest track down because she made the threats from a fictitious social media account. It took time for investigators to track down the person to whom the account belonged.

When officers responded to the home of Abigail Hernandez on February 20, they said they found a shotgun inside the home. Police did not clarify if the shotgun was registered to Hernandez or anyone living at the home in which it was discovered.

Hernandez was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat. She was remanded to the Monroe County Jail at the time in lieu of $15,000 bail.

BREAKING: RCSD student, illegal immigrant charged with making threat against East HS http://bit.ly/2CfOufo
    4:03 PM - Feb 23, 2018

As officers were investigating, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents determined Hernandez was an illegal immigrant who was in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The DACA program was created under the Obama administration in 2012. The program stipulates that certain people who were brought to the U.S. as children and meet a series of strict guidelines will be eligible to have deferred action for at least two years, with the possibility for renewal. Deferred action refers to a delay in the individuals' prosecutorial status. It does not mean they are given lawful status as U.S. citizens.

Hernandez was moved to a federal detention facility in Batavia and will be held there until a hearing is scheduled.

Alexander said he is unsure if Hernandez is being charged as an adult. She has no prior arrests.

"The quick thinking of school staff and the tenacious work of the investigators of the police department following through on this Facebook post lead to the arrest of Abigail Hernandez and the recovery of a shotgun," a statement from the Rochester Police Department said.

Singletary said this serves as a reminder for people everywhere that if they see something, they should say something.

East High School Superintendent Shaun Nelms released a statement Friday evening on the threat:
Sadly, in wake of the recent Parkland, Florida tragedy, schools across the country have been grappling with social media threats intended to instill fear and anxiety. While we cannot comment on this particular police investigation around a threat made to East, I want to stress how fortunate we are to be part of a community in which the police department works closely with schools to ensure the safety of the entire school community. We remain very grateful to the Rochester Police Department for their partnership and for keeping us well informed throughout the entire process. Their presence on campus last week and their guidance on how to best keep staff and students safe during this efficient, successful police investigation reiterates their ongoing support. As always, the safety of students and staff is our top priority.

‘I’m Going to Shoot All of Ya B*tches:’ DACA Illegal Alien Arrested for School Shooting Threats in New York

    24 Feb 2018Rochester, NY

An illegal alien shielded from deportation by the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was arrested after allegedly threatening a school shooting in upstate New York.

On Friday, Rochester Deputy Mayor Dr. Cedric Alexander and Deputy Chief La’Ron Singletary announced that 21-year-old DACA illegal alien Abigail Hernandez had been arrested by the Rochester Police Department after allegedly threatening East High School with a school shooting, according to 13WHAM.

“I’m coming tomorrow morning and I’m going to shoot all of ya bitches,” Hernandez allegedly wrote on the East High School Facebook page, using a fake social media account.

Hernandez, according to Singletary, was arrested days after she made the threat because it took time for police to find out that she was allegedly running the fake social media account.

As Rochester police arrested the DACA illegal alien at her home for the threat, they obtained a shotgun, but it remains unclear to whom the firearm belongs.

“The quick thinking of school staff and the tenacious work of the investigators of the police department following through on this Facebook post lead to the arrest of Abigail Hernandez and the recovery of a shotgun,” the Rochester Police Department said in a statement.

“Sadly, in wake of the recent Parkland, Florida tragedy, schools across the country have been grappling with social media threats intended to instill fear and anxiety,” East High School Superintendent Shaun Nelms said in a similar statement. Nelms said:

Their presence on campus last week and their guidance on how to best keep staff and students safe during this efficient, successful police investigation reiterate their ongoing support. As always, the safety of students and staff is our top priority.

The DACA illegal alien is being held at the Monroe County Jail on a $15,000 bond and has been charged with making terroristic threats.

DACA gives temporary amnesty to nearly 800,000 illegal aliens who crossed into the United States as children, oftentimes with their illegal alien parents. In September 2017, President Trump announced that DACA would officially end March 5, 2018, though a court reversal of that policy change is likely to keep the program in tact for a few extra months.

Ivanka Trump, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) have all praised DACA illegal aliens.

Last year, Ivanka Trump caused controversy with Trump supporters when she calledDACA illegal aliens “innocent people.” Most recently, Pelosi said DACA illegal aliens are “Americans too.”
Meanwhile, Durbin has said his sole job in Congress at the moment is working “full time” to get DACA illegal aliens amnesty so they can permanently remain in the U.S.

Under a DACA amnesty, American taxpayers would be left with a $26 billion bill. About one in five DACA illegal aliens, after an amnesty, would end up on food stamps, while at least one in seven would go on Medicaid. Since DACA’s inception under Obama, more than 2,100 illegal aliens have been kicked off the program after it was revealed that they were either criminals or gang members.
