New York explosion – Dramatic moment ‘ISIS-inspired’ Bangladeshi Akayed Ullah attacks Manhattan Port Authority Bus Terminal with pipe bomb strapped to his body’

NEW York was today rocked by a suspected ISIS-inspired pipe bomb terror attack carried out at a subway station near Times Square.

The suspect, named by cops as 27-year-old Bangladeshi Akayed Ullah, strapped the device to his body using Velcro before “deliberately” detonating it as he walked through the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The suspect was apprehended by cops after the blastThe rush hour blast, which ripped through the busy terminal at 7.20am this morning, has been described as an attempted terror attack by cops.
Dramatic video footage shows the moment the device explodes sending a cloud of smoke up into the packed station.

Former New York Police commissioner Bill Bratton has told MSNBC that the suspect was inspired by ISIS, a detail officials have yet to confirm.

Police have said the suspect suffered burns and wounds to his body after the bomb detonated in the packed transport hub.

A picture of the suspect shows him being restrained on the floor with his clothes ripped and cuts to his body.

Describing the device FBI spokesman John Miller said: “The device is based on a pipe bomb, it was fixed on his person and was a combination of Velcro and zip ties”
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo described the device as “amateur level”.

The suspect, who had reportedly been in the US for seven years and recently living in Brooklyn and working as a cab driver, is now in hospital under police custody.

The blast erupted in a passageway leading to train platforms, when many would have been heading to work and was captured on CCTV.

Officials have said four more people suffered minor injuries in the blast and are receiving treatment.

    What we know so far:

    • A pipe bomb exploded at Port Authority Bus Terminal, close to New York’s Times Square in New York at 7.30am local time this morning

New York police announce suspect bomber is in custody and is the only person injured in Times Square attack

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told a press conference: “There was an effectively low-tech device. There were several injuries, we hope minor. And it was handled extraordinarily well.
“There was a disruption in train and bus service while a sweep was being done. That’s all being restored now.”

He continued: “This is New York. The reality is that we are a target by many who would like to make a statement against democracy, against freedom.

“We have the statue of liberty in our harbour and that makes us an international target. We understand that.

“Anyone can go on the internet and download garbage and vileness about how to put together an amateur-level explosive device.

“And that’s a reality that we live with.”

The New York Post, citing police sources, said “wires” were seen protruding from the suspect’s body in the aftermath of the blast, a detail which police have yet to comment on.

NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill has confirmed that the suspect “did make statements” but has not revealed any details of what was said.

Witnesses reported a stampede as panicked commuters rushed to escape the scene.

The bomb squad and FBI officers were quickly pictured at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue where the blast was heard.

Cops, fire crews and paramedics remain at the scene and President Trump and the city’s mayor have been briefed.

The bus terminal has been reopened as investigations continue.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said he has ordered extra security at mass transit hubs in his state.

The explosion came just days after Isis issued a specific threat against Times Square.

Port Authority Bus Terminal is the largest in America with more than 65million people passing through each year.

Why does a Bangladeshi national have a NY driver's license?????

Suicide bombing suspect was a cab driver bent on revenge: cops

By Shawn Cohen, Max Jaeger, Reuven Fenton and Natalie Musumeci

    December 11, 2017 | 11:06am | Updated

The would-be suicide bomber who detonated an explosive device underground near the bustling Port Authority Bus Terminal is a former New York City cab driver who told investigators he carried out the attack for revenge, law enforcement sources said.

Akayed Ullah, 27, who is believed to be from Bangladesh and was living in Brooklyn, told authorities in sum and substance from his hospital bed: “They’ve been bombing in my country and I wanted to do damage here,” sources said.

Ullah — who officials say is a former city cab driver whose license has lapsed — set off a “low-tech” homemade pipe bomb strapped to his midsection around 7:20 a.m. inside the subway passageway between West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue and West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.

The incident was captured on transit surveillance footage.

Ullah, who had the explosive device affixed to him with Velcro and zip ties, suffered burns to his hands and abdomen, along with lacerations, and injured three others who were in proximity to him. He was quickly taken into custody and transported to Bellevue Hospital.

    Akayed Ullah

Immediately following the explosion, an MTA cleaner could be seen on surveillance video holding a dustpan and picking up two items off the ground while the bomber was lying in the empty corridor before the scene was locked down, a source said.

All three victims suffered minor injuries that included ringing in the ears and headaches. Two took themselves to Mount Sinai West and one to Mount Sinai Queens, according to officials.

“Let’s be clear that this was an attempted terrorist attack,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a press conference in Times Square alongside Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Police Commissioner James O’Neill.

“As New Yorkers, our lives revolve around the subways. When we hear of an attack in the subways, it’s incredibly unsettling,” de Blasio said, adding, “Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals. Thank God our first responders were there so quickly to address the situation, to make sure people were safe. Thank God the only injuries as we know at this point were minor.”

Cuomo called the incident “one of our worst nightmares.”

“This is New York,” Cuomo said. “The reality is that we are a target by many who would like to make a statement against democracy, against freedom. We have the Statue of Liberty in our harbor and that makes us an international target.”

The governor added: “We are not going to allow them to disrupt us.”

O’Neill said the device “was intentionally detonated,” though sources said it went off prematurely.

Another muslim brought here and unvetted by obama admin.....
Muslim terrorist brought to U.S. as part of 'chain migration'

Suspect in custody after explosion near Port Authority bus terminal
A bomb exploded at the Ports Authority bus terminal near Times Square at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, causing chaos in the area as police scrambled to secure the scene.

A Bangladeshi immigrant is in custody after an explosive vest he was wearing detonated and injured four people, including himself, during the height of rush hour Monday morning near New York City’s Port Authority bus terminal.

The blast went off in an underground tunnel at 7:20 a.m. near 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, two blocks from Times Square, police said.

Police Commissioner James O’Neill said at a 9:45 a.m. press conference that the suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, who detonated a “low tech device” attached to his body with Velcro and zip ties.

Ullah had entered the country in 2011 on an F-43 visa, which gives preference to immigrants who already have family living in the U.S. He is not a U.S. citizen but is living here legally on a green card.

Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration policy, tweeted that the F-43 is basically a “nephew visa” for a foreign national seeking to enter the U.S.

The Bangladeshi jihadist came on what amounts to a “nephew visa” – F43 visa, for the under-21 child of a person getting a green card because he/she is the sibling of a US citizen. #ChainMigration

    — Mark Krikorian (@MarkSKrikorian) December 11, 2017
Ullah sustained serious burns to his abdomen and hands but was speaking to investigators at the Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.

Three civilians in close proximity to Ullah when his pipe bomb exploded were treated for minor injuries.

The suspect’s name, Akayed Ullah, means “Allah’s doctrine enforcer” in Arabic, a native Arabic speaker told WND.

He lived in Brooklyn and worked previously as a New York City cab driver but reportedly made the bomb at his current place of employment, an electrical shop.

According to the New York Times, Ullah attended Masjid Nar al-Islam in Kensington, Brooklyn, and “prayed regularly, especially during Ramadan,” and “was close to the mosque’s imam” whom he was often seen with at afternoon prayers.

“This was an attempted terrorist attack,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the press conference.

    Chain migration nightmare

Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country in Asia.

Krikorian said there are about 175,000 Bangladeshis on the State Department’s immigrant visa waiting list, and 94 percent of them are in the siblings’ chain migration category.

President Trump in October called for an end to the process of “chain migration” under which an unlimited number of migrants can enter America based on a single green card holder who came before them. These migrants are typically breeze through the process with only light screening, just as the fiancee of San Berdardino jihadist Syed Farooq came from Saudi Arabia and helped him mow down 14 Americans at an office Christmas party two years ago.
Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton told MSNBC his sources in the department said the suspect admitted to carrying out the attack for ISIS.

Akayed Ullah, 24, is a Muslim migrant from Bangladesh

Four officers with the Port Authority police took down the suspected bomber at gunpoint, according to statements made at the police press conference.

The blast came at a time when the area was packed with commuters and holiday tourists. New York City is still on edge from a terror attack six weeks ago that claimed eight lives when a Muslim migrant from Uzbekistan, who entered the country on a “diversity lottery” visa, rented a truck from Home Depot and crashed it into a crowd of pedestrians on a bike path.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, speaking at the press conference this morning, said New Yorkers should not be surprised by continued terror attacks on their city.

“This is New York. The reality is we are a target. There are people who target us for or freedom and democracy,” Cuomo said. “We have the Statue of Liberty in our Harbor, and that makes us a target.”

Be also blamed the attack on “the Internet,” saying “anyone can download garbage” and learn how to make a bomb.

“That’s what ‘see something say something’ is all about,” Cuomo added.

“We’ll go back to work. We are not going to allow them to disrupt us,” he said. “That’s exactly what they want, and that’s exactly what they’re not going to get.”

De Blasio said no other credible threat existed against the city “at this time” but the city would remain on high alert with an expanded police presence throughout the day.

When asked about Ullah’s ISIS contacts, O’Neill said “we’re not going to talk about that right now.”

How he got here and why he attacked
There were reports that Ullah had no formal ties to ISIS but may have been inspired by the terror group.

Ullah told authorities in sum and substance from his hospital bed: “They’ve been bombing in my country and I wanted to do damage here,” sources told the New York Post.

The U.S. is not doing any bombing in Bangladesh, but Ullah presumably was referring to the Islamic State, which has seen its strongholds in Iraq and Syria crushed since President Trump took office.

Authorities said Ullah migrated to the U.S. on a F-43 visa, a family-based visa for those who have relatives already in the U.S.

The Uzbek migrant Sayfullo Saipov who killed eight people in a truck attack on New York just two months ago, came to the U.S. through a diversity visa lottery program and had 23 family members follow him here in another case of chain migration.

Bangladeshis have been migrating to the U.S. since 1974 and have formed large ethnic enclaves in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco, New York-New Jersey, Chicago, Boston, Florida, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Hamtramck and Detroit.

Police descended on at least three Brooklyn addresses connected to Ullah or his relatives — two in the Kensington neighborhood and one in Old Mill Basin.

A former Mill Basin neighbor said the suspect lived there with an older couple and two other young men. She said she would see him leaving the house with what appeared to be camera equipment and assumed he was on his way to work.

DHS: Suicide-Bomb Suspect Arrived by Chain Migration

    Drew Angerer/Getty Images

    by John Binder11 Dec 2017Washington, D.C.8800
The terror suspect who allegedly attempted to detonate a suicide-bomb in New York came to the United States from Bangladesh as a “chain migration” relative of an individual who had immigrated earlier into the United States.

In October, President Donald Trump called for an end to this “chain migration” process in his immigration principles.
On Monday 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, a Bangladesh national, injured three individuals when he allegedly tried to detonate a suicide bomb in New York City in a planned terrorist attack.
Ullah, as confirmed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), entered the U.S. in 2011 as a chain migrant.
Under “chain migration,” new immigrants to the U.S. are allowed to bring an unlimited number of poorly-screened foreign relatives with them, creating a never-ending flow of immigration from some terror-ridden countries.
Ullah came to the U.S. through the F43 visa, allowing him to obtain a Green Card simply because his father’s brother or sister had recently been naturalized as a U.S. citizen. This process is known as “extended-family chain migration.”
Trump has repeatedly demanded an end to chain migration, saying “Chain migration is a disaster for this country and it’s horrible.”
As Breitbart News reported, more than 140,000 Bangladeshi nationals — larger than the population of Dayton, Ohio — have entered the United States since 2005 for no other reason than to reunite with extended family members.

    • 8,508 Bangladeshi nationals entered U.S. in 2005 as chain migrants
    • 9,936 entered in 2006
    • 7,765 entered in 2007
    • 7,795 entered in 2008
    • 12,974 entered in 2009
    • 11,407 entered in 2010
    • 13,136 entered in 2011
    • 13,379 entered in 2012
    • 11,346 entered in 2013
    • 14,170 entered in 2014
    • 13,034 entered in 2015
    • 18,051 entered in 2016
    • Since 2005, 141,501 Bangladeshi nationals have entered U.S. as chain migrants

This is the second time in three months that a foreign-born suspected terrorist entered the U.S. through an immigration program that Trump has called for the end to.
Another suspected ISIS-inspired New York City terrorist, Uzbek national 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov who is accused of murdering at least eight individuals, entered the U.S. in 2010 by winning one of the 50,000 visas randomly allotted every year under the Diversity Visa Lottery.
The Visa Lottery dolls out 50,000 visas annually to foreign nationals from a multitude of countries. The countries include those with terrorist problems, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Yemen, and Uzbekistan.
Trump most recently slammed the visa lottery, saying:
We want a system that is merit-based. They come in on merit, they don’t come in on a lottery system. How about the lottery system? Folks did you see that? That’s the guy in New York City. The lottery system where they put names in a bin… so what they do, I would say but more than just say, they take their worst and they put them in the bin and then when they pick the lottery, they have the real worst in their hands… and we end up getting them.
No more lottery system. We’re going to end that. We’ve already started the process.
We want people coming into our country who love our people, support our economy and embrace our values. It’s time to get our priorities straight.
About 9.3 million foreign nationals have come to the U.S. as chain migrants between 2005 and 2016, Breitbart News reported. In that same time period, a total of 13.06 million foreign nationals have entered the U.S. through the legal immigration system, as every seven out of 10 new arrivals come to the country for nothing other than family reunification.
This makes chain migration the largest driver of immigration to the U.S. — making up more than 70 percent — with every two new arrivals bringing seven foreign relatives with them.
Currently, only one in 15 foreign nationals admitted to the U.S. come to the country based on skills and employment purposes. Though roughly 150,000 employment-based Green Cards are allotted every year, half of those Green Cards actually go to the foreign relatives of employees.
Since 2005, the U.S. admitted 80,252 chain migrants from Iran, despite the nation being listed by the U.S. State Department as a sponsor of terrorism.
