COURTESY STAFFORD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
After a nearly two-week search, authorities arrested a suspect for allegedly running a Virginia woman off the road and sexually assaulting her for more than two hours on Oct. 31, PEOPLE confirms.
Robert Carlos Flores Sibrian, 26, was arrested in Sanford, North Carolina, on Nov. 10, according to a Stafford County Sheriff’s Office news release. Flores Sibrian has been charged with rape and aggravated sexual battery.
“This is a huge sigh of relief for the community,” Stafford Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman M.C. Moncure tells PEOPLE.
Flores Sibrian allegedly dragged the woman into a ditch to sexually assault her in the early morning, authorities have told PEOPLE.
The woman told police she never saw the vehicle used to run her off the road prior to the crash, which caused her car to spin out of control before the car stopped on the shoulder of the road, police said.
In her initial interview, the woman, who has not been identified, said she did not know the man and that he spoke Spanish and broken English, police said.

After the alleged assault, the victim said the man walked back to his car and drove away, police said. The woman waited for her alleged attacker to be out of sight before she went back to her car and used her cell phone to call 911, police said.
Flores Sibrian is currently being held in Lee County jail on a $10,000 bond and an U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, the news release states. He has no fixed address but was living in the Fredericksburg area prior to the incident, according to the release.
It is not clear whether he will be extradited back to Virginia to be prosecuted. He has not entered a plea or been appointed an attorney, Stafford officials tell PEOPLE.

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a vicious roadside sexual assault early Oct. 31 in southern Stafford County.
Roberto Carlos Flores Sibrian, 26, is charged with rape and aggravated sexual battery, authorities said. Flores Sibrian was arrested Thursday at a construction site in Sanford, N.C., and is being held there in the Lee County Jail pending extradition to Stafford.
According to previously released information, a young woman was driving east on Kings Highway (State Route 3) between 2:45 and 3:15 that morning when her vehicle was struck by a dark-colored SUV.
The woman hadn't seen the vehicle before the collision, authorities said, and the impact caused her to spin out of control and wind up on the shoulder of the road near Sherwood Forest Farm Road.
Authorities said the woman was then forcibly removed from her vehicle and dragged to a nearby ditch, where she was sexually assaulted for approximately two hours.
Prior to the collision, the woman was at a residence in Spotsylvania County and had made no stops after leaving that home.
Her attacker got into the SUV and continued east on Route 3 after the incident. The woman called 911 from her cell phone and police immediately shut down the road to investigate.
The assailant left a shirt and DNA evidence behind.
Stafford Sheriff's spokeswoman M.C. Morris Moncure said Flores Sibrian has no fixed address, but was staying in the Fredericksburg area prior to the Oct. 31 incident. She said police got about 100 leads from the public.
Moncure would not discuss which of those leads led to Flores Sibrian's arrest, saying the investigation is ongoing and no further information would be released "in order to protect the integrity of the case and the privacy of the victim."
Stafford authorities credited a number of other agencies for their assistance, including Fredericksburg police, the King George and Spotsylvania sheriff's offices, state police, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the FBI, the U.S. Marshal Service and various North Carolina agencies.
Flores Sibrian is being held on a $100,000 bond, along with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
