June 17, 2014 – ICE deports Mexican murder suspect captured recently in Bay Area

A Mexican national captured recently in northern California, who is charged in his native country with murder and kidnapping, was turned over June 17 to Mexican law enforcement personnel at a San Diego-area border crossing by officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). June 18, 2014 – 552 victims of child sexual exploitation identified by HSI so far in 2014

A multi-count federal indictment has been unsealed following the arrest of 11 individuals throughout south Texas and the Houston areas, federal officials announced June 19. Full Story

"Operation Smack Talk" Results in the Seizure of Nearly 90 Pounds of White Heroin
JUN 17 (TUCSON, ARIZ.)
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge, Doug Coleman, today announced the seizure of 89 pounds of white heroin and the arrest of seven defendants as part of an 11-month investigation. The seizure marks one of the state’s largest heroin busts.

Three Former Georgia Correctional Officers Convicted for Offenses Related to Beating of Inmate and Ensuing Cover-Up

The Justice Department announced that Christopher Hall, a former sergeant for the Correctional Emergency Response Team at Macon State Prison in Oglethorpe, Georgia, and two former CERT officers, Ronald Lach and Delton Rushin, were convicted on Friday night by a federal jury on federal offenses related to the beating of an MSP inmate in 2010 and the cover-up that followed.

Attorney General Holder Vows Justice Department Will Continue to Look at Banks That Help Payment Processors Carry out Consumer Scams, Says More Cases to Be Resolved Soon

Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday said that the Justice Department will continue to investigate financial institutions that knowingly facilitate consumer scams, or that willfully look the other way in processing such fraudulent transactions. He acknowledged that multiple investigations were ongoing in this area, and said he expected several of those cases to be resolved in the coming months.
