TELL CONGRESS TO PASS THE REAL I.D. ACT

TELL CONGRESS TO PASS THE REAL I.D. ACT

Recently Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced The REAL I.D. Act (H.R. 418) which will establish federal identification standards to help prevent illegal aliens from obtaining driver's licenses.

Just as important, the bill also includes provisions that tighten asylum abuse, close a fence along the Mexican border near San Diego, and expand the grounds for deportation in terrorism-related cases.

(H.R. 10, the original House version of last year's intelligence reform bill, included all of these provisions and passed the House by a vote of 282-134 last October.

Unfortunately, they were stripped from the final version in a House-Senate conference committee). The bill currently has 130 co-sponsors and is scheduled for a House floor debate and vote next Thursday, February 10th.

Citizens Lobby strongly supports this bill and urges all concerned Americans to contact your Congressman and ask him to vote "Yes" on H.R. 418.
