Texas AG on DACA: ‘There Is No Statute Authorizing This’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says an Obama-created amnesty program for young illegal aliens remains unconstitutional, saying that “there is no statute” for it.

In an interview with the New York Times, Paxton continued urging President Trump to end the Deferred Action for Childhood (DACA) amnesty program, where more than 800,000 illegal aliens have protected status.

“It’s not about the policy; it’s about the Constitution,” Paxton said. “The fact is, there is no statute authorizing this.”

Attorneys general from Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Idaho, West Virginia, Texas, along with the Governor of Idaho, signed a letter to the Trump Administration threatening a lawsuit against DACA, Breitbart Texas reported, if the program is not ended by September 5.

“We respectfully request that the Secretary of Homeland Security phase out the DACA program,” Paxton and the other state officials wrote in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions. “Just like DAPA, DACA unilaterally confers eligibility for work authorization and lawful presence without any statutory authorization from Congress.”

While giving favorable coverage to the DACA program, the New York Times failed to mention any of the Americans who fell victims at the hands of DREAMers, the common title for illegal aliens protected by DACA.

In one case outlined by Breitbart Texas, a DREAMer was charged with brutally raping a Washington woman. The illegal alien allegedly attacked the woman, breaking her jaw, nose and ripped half of her ear off before raping her.

In another case, a DREAMer was convicted of killing two 6-year-old and 11-year-old girls in a hit-and-run as they were playing in a leaf pile.

Despite campaigning to shutter DACA, Trump has yet to end the program. The President is expected to make a next week.

Under DACA, illegal alien gang members and felons have been able to remain in the United States with their protected status. The open borders lobby, big business community and both political establishments have voiced opposition to any changes or an end to DACA.

For instance, Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) introduced legislation that would make DACA permanent and are looking into immigration measures that would give amnesty to the estimated 12-30 million illegal aliens currently living in the U.S.

DACA is wrong, wrong, wrong. It rewards law-breakers, it steals jobs from young Americans, it robs young Americans of seats in colleges and universities, it usurps our laws, burdens taxpayers with welfare and benefits, undermines the best interest of our country and citizens, allows illegal aliens to exploit their children to gain an illegal foot-hold in our country relying on the stupidity of past Presidents and the treasonous weakness of members of Congress to subvert our laws, and has absolutely no place or justification at all.

Ending DACA isn't about "heart", "hard" decisions or "incredible kids", this is about protecting US citizens and the United States from the scourge of illegal immigration which we do by securing our borders and upholding US immigration law to the letter and verse which requires an immediate full end to DACA as soon as possible. We don't need a "phase out", we need a full and immediate revocation.

Vote DURBIN and GRAHAM out of office!

No amnesty...no path to stay...they should have NEVER been allowed to stay this long!

It is about kindness, heart, incredible kids, though- OUR kids. We have incredible kids who need education and job. They also need to be able to live in, work in, and start families in a safe country. Their needs, their rights should come first.

Yes!! It's about our Dreamers, our Kids, our Families, our Future, not illegal aliens, no matter how they came here, when they came here, who brought them, how long they've been here or what they've done since they've been here. It's not about them at all, they aren't supposed to be here taking up our time talking about what to do with them. They need to be gone, that's the law, the government is supposed to enforce the law, not debate it, just do it, do your jobs, get them out of here. I don't want to hear another word about it, I want DACA ended and their tails out of here. Pronto!
