Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Cowers on Defending the Border After Biden Regime Tells Him ‘No’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is backing down on defending the border after the Biden administration told him he couldn’t do it and he acquiesced to this federal overreach.

Abbott announced on Thursday that he would be shutting down six ports of entry at the border, enjoying news media headlines indicating that he was tough on the border. Then, only hours later, he reversed his decision at the behest of the Biden regime.

The weak, feckless RINO leader in predictable fashion is blaming Biden for his own lack of will and courage in enforcing the rule of law.

“The sheer negligence of the Biden Administration to do their job and secure the border is appalling,” Abbott said to the Washington Examiner.

This follows a familiar pattern of Abbott posturing for the cameras and the news media as a strong leader before wilting shortly afterward and hoping conservative don’t notice.

Big League Politics reported on how Democrats flouted the law, abdicated the legislature and mocked Abbott’s empty threats to jail them as they returned to the state in defiant fashion:

“Texas Governor Greg Abbott has let at least two Democrat lawmakers strut back into Texas after abdicating the vote without any consequences after publicly boasting that he would arrest them if they returned and did not perform their duties.

“As soon as they come back in the state of Texas, they will be arrested, they will be cabined inside the Texas capitol until they get their job done,” Abbott said last week after Democrats fled the state.

However, it appears that Abbott was yet again just paying lip service for the media headlines. At least two Democrats who fled the state have reportedly returned, and there have been no consequences for their vile actions.

Two TX Reps have returned to TX.. Neither of them were arrested or brought to the Capitol to do their job, in spite of Abbott saying they’d be met by a Sheriff.

His lack of leadership has caused him to lose confidence from the conservative grassroots, prompting three primary challengers to emerge against Abbott for next year’s gubernatorial election.”

Abbott has become a reviled figure in the Texas conservative grassroots, with three viable gubernatorial candidates rising to primary challenge him. He has failed on the border and countless other issues.
