TEXAS REP PROPOSES STOPPING FUNDS TO CENTRAL AMERICA OVER ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

TEXAS REP PROPOSES STOPPING FUNDS TO CENTRAL AMERICA OVER ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

    Breitbart Texas

    by BOB PRICE23 Jan 2015

Congressman Randy Weber (R-TX) has re-introduced a bill to hold Central American nations accountable for illegal immigrants from their countries by cutting off foreign aid. The bill (H.R. 439, attached below) is in response to last summer’s invasion of illegal immigrants and unaccompanied minors mostly from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

“I first introduced the Illegal Entry Accountability Act (IEAA) last June, when our borders were being flooded by illegal immigrants, including thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children,” Weber said to Breitbart Texas in response to our inquiry. “In July, I traveled down to the border to see it firsthand. Texas truly is on the front line of this border crisis, and I plan to do everything within my Constitutional authority to prevent the President from moving forward with his plan to grant 5 million illegal aliens amnesty.”

“With a new Congress,” Weber continued, “it is time to seize on this opportunity to secure our borders and protect our nation.”

The bill would hold Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador accountable for illegal immigration. The intent is to immediately suspend all U.S. foreign aid until Congress determines these countries have taken sufficient steps to mitigate the massive illegal immigration problem faced by this country last summer.

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that over 67,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) crossed our border last year,” Weber wrote in a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas. “When detained, these children require healthcare and social services paid for by our constituents.”

Weber blamed the Obama Administration for its failure to be prepared for the massive border crossings of last summer. “The Administration was scrambling because they failed to plan for an event like this,” Weber stated. “Countries in South America are using our current laws against us.”

“The President has proven he will not act unless he is acting unilaterally and granting executive amnesty,” he concluded. “That is precisely why I am re-introducing the Illegal Entry Accountability Act of 2015, which will immediately suspend all U.S. foreign aid to Central American nations (Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador) in an effort to hold our southern neighbors accountable.”

The bill will be presented to the House Foreign Affairs Committee for a hearing. Weber was joined by eight original co-sponsors including Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX). Other co-sponsors include: Rep. Renee Ellmers (NC-2), Rep. Mo Brooks (AL-5), Rep. Chabot (OH-1), Rep. Massie (KY-4), Rep. Scott DesJarlais (TN-04), Rep. Tom Rice (SC-7), Rep. Curt Clawson (FL-19).
The original bill, filed last year, had twenty-seven co-sponsors but was never voted on by the Foreign Affairs Committee. The committee is currently headed by Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA).

This bill deserves patriots' support. But passage would be an emotional victory which, IMO, wouldn't actually cut off illegal entry into our country. The wave of Central American illegals was caused by 'Bama's publicizing that the door was wide open for them. Their governments broadcast that news, but that's all that they did.

'Bamacrats and the Repub leadership are the problem. Both want open borders. 'Bamacrats want the votes of all those Undocumented Democrats, the Repub leadership wants their big money donors to know that the United States will be run for the convenience of corporations and the One Percenters.

Patriots should use tools which have wide appeal. Americans are concerned about jobs, so Universal E-Verify should appeal to many Americans. IMO Latinos are becoming more aware of the dangers of immigration for their own children and grandchildren, so Universal E-Verify may get support from what now may seem like an unlikely source.

To cut off illegal aliens sneaking into our country, we need to shut off the jobs magnet. Pure and simple.

vistalad, I totally support Universal E-Verify but lets say we pass that. Does it change amnesty for illegal aliens already here? Does it reduce the number of employers who knowingly already violate US immigration law? Does it require the Executive Branch to enforce the law? It will only help employers who want to abide our laws and really, tell me, is there really an employer who can't tell they've hired an illegal alien? What E-Verify does is close a loophole that now exists on this issue, allowing employers to claim they didn't know they were hiring illegal aliens because the employees filed a false form claiming they were eligible to work in the US, an I-9 form I believe it is. E-Verify will help, but unless the federal government is going to investigate illegal employers, fine them, and deport all the illegal workers they hired, it will make some difference, but it won't make a big difference. The problem isn't the jobs magnet after all, it's the "welcoming" made public by the federal government, the "deals" made behind our backs with their governments, and the payola flowing from the cartels behind this travesty into so many government officials pockets at all levels of government, from the federal government to states to local cities and counties.

I have no problem with passing more laws to try to deal with this problem like the E-Verify that closes the loophole for employers and Steve King's bill to end automatic birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens, but I've come to realize that there's a universal law that reigns here, and that is you can't solve lawlessness with more laws. The primary reason for this problem is a long-term conspired plan to ignore US immigration law that goes back to the 80's with Reagan and the deal he made with lawmakers to go along with amnesty on the condition that Congress would pass laws and fund more border security to stop the problem in the future. And here we are 29 years later with 20 million or more illegal aliens in the country with citizen offspring by the millions, and we're facing the same situation again except on a much larger more massive less tolerable scale.
