Two men and a teenager who allegedly were in the process of smuggling two men into the United States were arrested by Mexican officials on Wednesday after they were stopped on a speeding violation, Juarez police said.

All three are being held on human trafficking charges, police said on Thursday.

The arrest took place Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Juárez Ave. and Gardenias street, police said. The three men, and the two people who were going to be smuggled, were speeding in a black 1999 Jeep Cherokee when officers stopped them.

Upon being questioned, the two immigrants told the police they had just been deported from the U.S. and were trying to cross again illegally into El Paso, officials said. The pair told police officers they paid the smugglers $3,000 to sneak them into the country.

It is unclear how the illegally crossing was going to take place.

Those arrested are Luis Alberto Caballero Álvarez, 23; Luis Enrique Calvillo Franco, 29, and his cousin, a 16-year old boy.

They face human trafficking charges. The alleged victims were released.

To be "poor" immigrants, they seem to have a lot of CASH.
