DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO – The National Council of La Raza spends most of its time protecting and advancing the rights of Latinos through advocacy and community work. But as it wraps up its convention downtown, it has found itself defending its name.

sORRY, JANET...but since you grew up in a world of Mexicans and Chicano nationalists......you have no clue....NO ONE outside of Mexican-Americans and Mexicans refer to themselves as "La RAZA"......you won't find or hear South Americans or most Central AMericans (unless they're illegal aliens in the United States) or Cubans collectively refer to themselves as "La RAZA" .....
it's a rather crude, in-your-face term used by Chicano separatists like the founders of NCLR and LULAC. Give it up...you can't hide your racist, ethno-supremacist origins nor intent and "LA RAZA" hypocritically smears anyone that opposes its open-borders, ethno-supremacist, pro-illegal alien agenda as "racist".

Yeah, right! They are masters at obfuscating issues! Raza literally means ethnicity as in la raza mexicana (of mexican descent), la raza italiana (of italian descent), la raza japones (of japanese descent). Ethnicity and race are synonymous in latin countries (and I include portugues, french, italian and spanish speaking countries in this).
Raza does NOT mean people or community in general terms, RAZA is based on your heritage, on the blood of your forefathers, if you will.

[quote]Translating our name as 'the race' is not only inaccurate, it is factually incorrect. 'Hispanic' is an ethnicity, not a race. . . . Hispanics can be and are members of any and all races.â€

They can change their name, but their radical agenda will undoubtedly remain.

There are many "white" latinos but if they spoke English they'd still be considered one of those dreaded Anglo-Europeans. They have called their very own people "traitors" for speaking English and flying the American flag. If Hispanic is an ethnicity, then why have you called everyone a "racist" since day one? They don't want us because of our skin color BS. They cry "racial profiling" when it comes to ICE raids.
If only everyone knew Hispanic is not a race we wouldn't be in this mess. Laraza, as has been stated before, only cares about certain "hispanics" but is very willing to use the total number of "hispanics" in the US to their advantage.

It shocked me the first time I was called a "racist" for this.....my first thought was come-on.....how can I be "racist" against my own race?

So then even with their new defination......we are then right back to "rule of law".......right where we started.
