There Sure Are a Lot of Chinese Illegal Immigrants Sneaking Over the Southern Border

President Joe Biden’s border crisis is getting quite diverse. The southern border has reportedly seen a considerable surge in the percentage of illegal immigrants entering the country from China.

The increase will likely raise eyebrows, questions, and possibly the usage of Google Translate at the southern border. Border Patrol agents have run into rising numbers of Chinese illegal immigrants trying to cross into the states.

Chinese migrants have become the fastest-growing demographic to cross into the United States from the southern border.

Agents with Customs and Border Protection encountered more than 24,000 Chinese immigrants at the US-Mexico border in the 2023 fiscal year.

It’s a small total compared to the number of migrants crossing into the US from other countries like Venezuela, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

But it’s a sharp increase compared to previous years.

Border Patrol tallied 6,000 encounters with Chinese nationals at the southwest border in December 2023, a dramatic increase from approximately 900 a year prior.

The uptick in Chinese illegals at the southern border has become so pronounced, journalist Bill Melugin, who frequently reports on the border crisis, humorously noted that his Spanish-speaking skills were “not doing me a whole lot of good down here” because a “massive explosion of Chinese nationals” were showing up to try to cross the border.

Fox News' @BillMelugin_ reports on how the illegal invasion has shifted to California and includes a massive surge of Chinese nationals:

Border Patrol has been grappling with the wave of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers trying to cross the border. But the rise in Chinese nationals joining those trying to get into America has been difficult to figure out.

Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Good, of the Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector, told the Homeland Security Committee during a private hearing in September last year that his agents were ‘trying their best to figure out why [individuals from other continents are] coming’ but that ‘information can be hidden’ and ‘their agendas, their ideologies, the reason for them coming could be missed’.

Gloria Chavez, chief patrol agent for the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector, also told the Committee in June that the massive surge in Chinese migrants had forced her agents to enlist a translation service, with each Chinese national taking up to seven hours to interview.

Its chair, Mark Green, said the surge in Chinese migrants was a ‘massive’ national security concern.

He said agents were being ‘overwhelmed’, with many Chinese nationals being ‘released into the interior with little consideration for their country of origin.’

Reports suggest that Chinese illegals are spending up to $35,000 to be smuggled through South America up to the border. One of the individuals told reporters that he took the perilous journey from China to Ecuador, at which point he began the trek north because he yearned for “American freedom.”

Even more noteworthy is that those coming from China have accessed online guides for navigating the dangerous journey to the southern border. It is almost as if social media has become a digital coyote of sorts, providing step-by-step instructions for illegals and asylum seekers.

Of course, the Biden administration remains woefully inept when it comes to addressing the rise in illegal immigrants and asylum seekers from multiple countries. The situation has worsened since the president took office, and there does not appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

The surge in Chinese nationals sneaking over the border presents another dimension to this problem, especially when it comes to national security. Unfortunately, since the White House is not up to the task of addressing the problem, America has to hope there are no additional dangers of having these people flood into the country.
