Thousands of Ga. Voters Told to Prove Citizenship

Thousands of Ga. Voters Told to Prove Citizenship

ATLANTA -- The Georgia secretary of state's office mailed out letters to more than 4,200 voters, telling them they must prove their citizenship for their ballots to count.

A three-judge federal panel ruled last month that Georgia can to continue asking prospective voters who have been flagged as possibly ineligible to prove their citizenship. A voting rights group has asked that the state be blocked from using the system.

The secretary of state's office says 671 letters were delivered in Gwinnett County. County officials say they've cleared more than a third of them. More than 400 were sent to DeKalb County, where election officials say people have been coming in to comply.

[b]Did Handel do this for political reasons rather than for the integrity of the elections? I think so. I have received about 15 fliers from here campaign and not once was her stance on illegal immigration mentioned. She also has used lame excuses for not attending meetings and debates with other candidates.

Handel has been endorsed by Palin and Perdue. That alone makes me see it will be business as usual. These people are constantly calling for "Immigration Reform"...which always equates to amnesty.

Perdue was able to stay out of the fray, but he remains a George Bush, bootlicking, brown nosed coward. He is scared to death of me or anyone who wants to question his actions and motives.

I like Sarah Palin...just as I liked Newt Gingrich. They sound like conservative Patriots. BUT, 20/20 hindsight tells me these people are skillful deceivers. I am afraid that people will be deceived by Palin's endorsement of Handel. Nathan Deal has some baggage, but is comfortable enough in his convictions on illegal immigration. He has even had T.V. ads using the “dâ€
