Three AZ High School Students Arrested with 3200 Fentanyl Pills, Say Police

Three high school students in the southern Arizona were arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of 3,200 fentanyl pills. Their town shares an international border with San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora.

Police in San Luis, Arizona, announced the arrests of three local high school students after an investigation led to the alleged discovery of 3,200 fentanyl pills. Two of the students were identified as Noemí Hernández-Madrigal and Alessandra Cárdenas-Hernández, both 18. A 16-year-old student will be charged as a juvenile, according to local news reports. The students were enrolled in summer school and were arrested on campus.

Hernández-Madrigal was reportedly found in possession of three plastic baggies containing more than 3,200 blue fentanyl pills marked “M30.” The total weight came out to 373 grams. The fentanyl pills are selling for $15 on the street, according to San Luis Police Lieutenant Marco Santana. The officer noted the city of San Luis had approximately 19 overdoses thus far in 2019–already surpassing 16 incidents in 2018. The border city has a population of roughly 32,000.

In December 2018, KYMA Yuma reported on the opioid epidemic related to deadly fentanyl. San Luis Police Chief, Richard Jessup said the town is impacted due to its geographic proximity to Mexico and nearby drug smuggling routes.
In the same month, the San Luis Police Department reached out to the Yuma Union High School District to distribute flyers specifically warning about M30 after multiple reports of student overdoses.

In August 2018, Breitbart News reported on the discovery of a border narco-tunnel leading into a shuttered Arizona KFC restaurant by Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Border Patrol. Authorities found 118 kilos of methamphetamine, six grams of cocaine, three kilos of fentanyl, 13 kilos of white heroin, and six kilos of brown heroin. Authorities surmised the discovery involved the Sinaloa Cartel.

In April 2019, elements of the Mexican Army and state police seized 12,260 fentanyl pillsat a military checkpoint in Sonora, which resulted in the arrest of one adult male traveling aboard a passenger bus.

Last weekend, at least 527 pounds of methamphetamine worth $7.2 million was seized during a joint investigation by local police and federal agents in San Luis, Arizona.

Arizona Teens Arrested For Possession of 3,000 Deadly Fentanyl Pills

    June 10, 2019

Three teenagers from San Luis, Arizona were arrested Wednesday for possession of over 3,000 deadly fentanyl pills, according to numerous news reports.

San Luis police made the arrests while the three teens were attending summer school classes at San Luis High School. Police identified the suspects as two 18-year-old female students, Noemi Hernandez-Madrigal and Alessandra Cardenas-Hernandez and a male minor whose name wasn’t made public.

The 3,200 pills found in the three’s possession is more than enough to kill thousands of people and many times people who purchase these pills have no idea they are mixed with deadly Fentanyl.

According to San Luis police Lieutenant Marco Santana, half of each pill is enough to kill one person. Further, Santana said the bust is worth over $30 million. This reporter spoke to Santana who said the pills were likely from Mexico, but it hasn’t been confirmed. Further, Santana explained, “It’s [Fentanyl] clandestinely made on the Mexico side by the Mexican cartels across the border.”

Retired Phoenix Police detective Robert Arce reported for Breitbart Monday that San Luis lies on the U.S. Mexico border. Earlier this year, SaraACarter.com reported on a new fentanyl street pill dubbed “Mexican Oxy.”

Arce appeared as anexpert in Sara Carter’s documentary Not In Vein, which is being used as an educational tool across the country to warn about the deadly drug cartels and its increasingly dangerous narcotics being trafficked across the nation. The new synthetic drug is being brought into the U.S. by the Mexican cartels. Fentanyl, as Former Special Agent in Charge of the DOJ Derek Maltz puts it, is “poison” that the Mexican cartels use to kill Americans. The pill is spiking the rate of overdose deaths in the U.S. Southwest and its being trafficked by the Mexican cartels across the border.

‘Mexican Oxy’: The New Disguise for Fentanyl in America’s Southwest

A pill dubbed ‘Mexican Oxy’ killed a teenager in Tucson, AZ because it wasn’t the prescription opioid he believed it to be. Instead, it was a powerful Fentanyl pill disguised to look like Oxycodone.

Nineteen year old Aaron Fransisco Chavez isn’t the only person to lose his life taking the increasingly powerful contraband pills being distributed by drug cartels into the United States and law enforcement officials are becoming increasingly alarmed. These highly potent synthetic opioids mixed with Fentanyl are killing Americans and most people don’t realize they’re out there, said Derek Maltz, a former Special Agent in Charge of the DOJ. Maltz, who has spoken to SaraACarter.com, said the cartels are poisoning America and killing our children.

He agrees with the administration’s plans to fight for securing the nation’s border. He said limiting the drug cartels capacity to get the narcotics into the United States should be major priority for the administration.

“The sophisticated cartels study the techniques and measures put in place by the United States daily and will develop alternative routes to get their poison into our country,” said Maltz.

Chavez’s overdose is not an aberration but it is happening to young people across the country. It is another example of America’s deadly opioid epidemic, Maltz said. Chavez took the pill at a Halloween party in Tucson, AZ. Fortunately, three other people who took the illicit pill at the party were saved after receiving an injection of naloxone, an antidote to the deadly drug.

Law enforcement officials believe that Arizona and the southwest are becoming hot beds for the nation’s fentanyl crisis. Further, the situation has escalated over the past several years across the mid-west, Ohio and across the East Coast, as revealed in Sara Carter’s non-for-profit documentary Not In Vein.In Arizona, Fentanyl deaths tripled from 2015 to 2017, as stated in the report.

“There’s less stigma to taking a pill than putting a needle in your arm, but one of these pills can have enough fentanyl for three people.” said Yavapai County Sheriff’s Lt. Nate Auvenshine in an interview with Stars and Stripes.

The Mexican cartels receive Fentanyl from China. From there it is trafficked through the US Mexico border.
