Six illegal immigrants, including three who were found in the Cape Fear region, have been indicted in federal court for illegal re-entry after deportation, according to a release from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina in Raleigh.

Two of the six, Aurelio Ramirez-Barrientos, 41, and Fredi Perez-Navarro, 44, both from Mexico, were found in Robeson County. A third, Pedro Landeros-Tetazia, 33, of Mexico, was found in Harnett County.

Ramirez-Barrientos was arrested March 14 in Robeson County and served with a warrant from Johnston County charging him with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, according to court documents. Upon checking records, federal agents found he was deported March 6, 2006, from Laredo, Texas. Ramirez-Barrientos was transferred to Johnston County where his bail was set at $100,000.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents placed a detainer on Ramirez-Barrientos when he posted his bail, court documents said. He is now in custody in Wake County.

No information was available on Perez-Navarro.

Landeros-Tetazia was deported Aug. 31, 2005, at Brownsville, Texas. No other information was available.

The others were found in Duplin and Wake counties, the release said.

If convicted, the men could face a maximum sentence of two years and a $250,000 fine.
