Thread: Three suspects held in burned body investigation (MS-13)

I live in Tennessee and all I can say is "Yeppers!" MS-13 is here. So is Sur-13. What amazes me the most is that some of the locals here don't know this.

A couple of months back I was looking at buying a house (moving because of crime in my area) and low and behold...the day I went to make an offer MS-13 tags were on a nearby house and street signs. Didn't make an offer needless to say and am moving to a smaller home in a better part of town. My real estate agent was surprised about all of this...and I told her to take a detour and showed her the Brown Pride and other Latino tags. I was surprised she didn't know this...Afterall, it isn't just a small section of town that is invaded.

MS-13 isn't too organized in Nashville yet. Of course the key word is 'yet.'

We have a Greenway where I used to go to roller blade, ride my bike, walk, fish, etc. that is not even six blocks from the police department. I was almost mugged there once and just this last week I went there to let a little box turtle go and there were fresh Sur-13 tags.

Very little press is given to their existance. I know of it all too well.

Two indicted in burned body case

BENTON, Tenn. — Indictments for murder and robbery have been returned by the Polk County Grand Jury against two Cleveland men in connection with a body found Aug. 7 in a burning car in the Cherokee National Forest.

Edwin Daniel Almenderez-Ulloa and Cesar “Austin” O’Hara Ortiz were indicted this week on state charges of first-degree murder, felony murder and especially aggravated robbery, according to court records.

The victim tentatively has been identified as Juan Angel Moya Flores, 24, whom authorities said was an illegal immigrant and whose address hasn’t been verified.

BENTON, Tenn. - A Polk County grand jury has indicted two men in the Aug. 8 death of a man whose burned body was found inside a car in the Cherokee National Forest.
Charged with first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and felony murder are 19-year-old Edwin Daniel Almenderez-Ulloa and 25-year-old Cesar "Austin" O'Hara Ortiz, according to the Polk County indictments.

A still-unnamed 17-year-old is charged with accessory after the fact in the case.

"The autopsy isn't back, so we are not 100 percent sure, but we think the victim is Juan Angel Moya Flores," a 24-year-old illegal immigrant, TBI spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson said. No address for the victim is yet known.

"Indications are it started out in one place" and moved to other locations, 10th Judicial District assistant prosecutor John Williams said.

No official cause of death has been released.

Williams said a petition has been filed in Bradley County Juvenile Court to try the juvenile as an adult.

A burning Toyota Camry was found on a rural forest service road not far from the Georgia/Tennessee border by visitors to the Cherokee National Forest. The victim's body was found inside the car.

Almenderez-Ulloa and Ortiz were arrested based on tips. They were initially held by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service.

But now the two adults are being held in the Polk County jail, according to Polk County officials, and the 17-year-old is being held in Bradley County. No court date has yet been set.

Johnson said Almenderez-Ulloa and the juvenile claim allegiance to the Mara Salvatrucha gang, or MS-13, that began in California in the 1980s. That gang is known for killing rivals with machetes, according to news reports, and signs of the gang have been found in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tenn.
