    New county employees are already checked for citizenship, but now even contractors working for the county will need to use the e-Verify system. In August the county purchasing department will begin notifying vendors and contractors that the need to use the federal e-Verify system.

    Contractors and vendors will need to comply by September 1st 2011. “E-Verify establishes that those who work on, and benefit from, taxpayer-funded projects have the legal right to employment in the United States,â€
