"Bellevue Community Remembers Slain Woman"

More than a year after her murder, a Bellevue woman was remembered by her community over the weekend.

Friends and family of Mary Sadler gathered at the Bellevue Middle School Sunday to donate a new water filtration system in her name.

A plaque bearing Sadler's picture will hang above the contribution made in her memory.

Sadler's violent death last year at the hands of Ivan Moreno, an illegal immigrant, stunned her Bellevue community.

Mike Sadler, victim’s son, said, “The fact that they're remembering her and keeping her spirit alive in front of everybody for what she was in this community. The fact that...
...they think so much of her… It’s what really touches us.â€
