Moya, 17, may be unable to attend college, though she has a 3.4 grade point average, received unsolicited recruiting packages from Princeton University, and speaks and writes in English and Spanish. Her parents brought her from Mexico to the U.S. at age 8 and enrolled her in Metro Nashville schools. The parents overstayed their visas, making the family illegal.

A 3.4 and she is receiving recruiting packages from Princeton? You must be joking?

A caucasian would have had to ace the SAT along with a minimum of 4.0 combined with a host of extra-curricular activites to even have a legitimate chance of Princton ever looking at their application.

Either this is an outright mis truth, or another example of the bar being completely eliminated in an effort to accommodate a certain segment of our population that has no business going to college in this country while being subsidized by American Tax Dollars.

The recruiting packages mean nothing...they were probably sent b/c she indicated on the SAT that she was Hispanic....it is still extremely competitive to get into Princeton regardless of ethnicity. A 3.4 isn't going to get her into Princeton...don't worry. Even a PERFECT SCORE on the SAT's is not a guarantee, in fact Princeton turns down 50% of the applicants that do have perfect SAT's. A relative of mine had both a perfect SAT score, took AP MAth and Science classes had better than a 4.0 and still didn't get into Princeton....she got a full ride to Northwestern and to Rice in Houston. Stanford waitlisted her...she d/n like the looney's in Berkeley when she went to visit anyway...so she went to NW.

Yea, a 3.4 will not even give her a chance at Berkeley (or any UC School for that matter) , unless she can play football, which I doubt. Maybe if she got a 1300-1400 on her SAT's she may have an outside chance because she's a minority.

She might get into Long Beach State with a 3.4, or a private school, or perhaps she should apply to The National Autonomous University of Mexico and let the Mexican Government subsidize her education since she is a Mexican Citizen.

I don't really care where she goes so long as we do not have to subsidize it!

Yup, the UNAM in Mexico is FREE for Mexican Nationals. La RAZA and the Consulates should be providing that information to the ilelgal alien students in their middle schools and high schools. How come they don't?

Great question legalatina! Perhaps we should find out. If an illegal invader is a such wondeful student, why doesn't he/she apply to universities and colleges in their homeland since they are still citizens of that country. UNAM is a world renowned University. People attend UNAM from all over the world!

I would love to have the answer to that question!

I know legal. I know. I always seem to forget that logic and common sense play no role in the arguments of la raza and like groups. They race bait for personal gain only!
