SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Police arrested a man accused of impersonating a federal immigration officer and robbing a man who apparently just wanted his computer fixed.

According to the Deseret News, documents filed in 3rd District Court Thursday indicate the victim met Eduardo Cruz in South Salt Lake Sunday so Cruz could fix his computer.

Police say Cruz instead told the victim he was an agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, pulled a gun, tied up the victim and robbed him of $515, a driver license, Mexico consular identification, cell phone and camera.

The victim escaped and called police, who later found Cruz and his wife, Michelle Fenstermaker, in a South Salt Lake motel room. Officers say they found weapons, drugs and counterfeit ID equipment when they arrested the two.

Cruz and Fenstermaker were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of purchase, transfer and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and having a forged writing device. Cruz was also charged with aggravated robbery and impersonating a peace officer.
