During a traffic stop on Interstate 20, Parker County Sheriff Cpl. Marc Fletcher became suspicious.

His gut feeling proved to be right after he seized more than 26 pounds of cocaine.

According to Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler, Fletcher was on routine patrol near the 402 mile marker around 5 a.m. Saturday when he stopped an eastbound 2006 Dodge Truck for a minor traffic offense.

Fletcher grew suspicious during a roadside interview with the driver. He discovered the vehicle was recently registered to the occupant, from Chihuahua, Mexico, but found no luggage or items typically found on a road trip.

A report listed factors where Fletcher suspected narcotics trafficking, which led to a search of the truck.

A press release stated during the search, Fletcher found 12 kilograms (2.2 pounds each) of suspected cocaine hidden inside a compartment located in the firewall of the truck.

The driver, a 43-year-old female, was arrested. Authorities believe she is a Mexican national.

Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes investigators were assisted by Drug Enforcement Agency officials and were assigned to the case. During a follow-up investigation, authorities arrested a male suspect believed to be the intended recipient of the drugs.

The suspect is also believed to be a Mexican national. Both suspects are in custody in Oklahoma.

Special Crimes investigators requested the identities of the suspect be withheld due to the sensitivity of the investigation.

Fowler said the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will adopt the case for prosecution.

SCU Investigators said the cocaine is worth about $200,000. If sold on the street, the value of the drugs could bring up to $1 million.

“Through the good work of Deputy Fletcher, a drug dealer is off the streets, a major amount of illegal narcotics won’t make it to the streets and two of the people responsible are in custody,â€

Watch out for the 'A-Communist-LU'.. they will get you for racial profiling and violating the rights of Mexican citizens.
