Poll shows people think most immigrants here illegally

ATHENS - The illegal immigration issue in Georgia has people divided on both sides of the fence - and a new poll shows that Georgians believe most immigrants are here illegally.

A new University of Georgia poll shows that almost two-thirds of Georgians believe that most new immigrants living in the state are here illegally.

That number is up from five years ago when only half of Georgians thought most newcomers were without papers. Of the 803 people randomly polled 29 percent said they thought illegal immigrants were taking jobs from them.

Since 2001 Gwinnett, Cobb, Clayton, DeKalb, Fulton and Rockdale counties have each seen significant increases in Hispanic voters as well as a drop in the number of registered white voters.

There are SO many here illegally......but there are those that are here legally and at times it's difficult to discern. I see the problem as so many made it under the last amnesty and alot that are illegal, are living with family members or relatives who are "amnesty legal" from the last wave.
I do beleive the majority are illegal though. You can tell the difference with the ones who are grown children and now having babies from the parents of the last amnesty and those that are new.

I agree with crazybird. You can tell who the new ones are and there are more and more of them. NO AMNESTY! SEND THEM BACK! If we don"t we will keep getting more and more of them and they will also think that they can get amnesty.
