WESLACO - Truck drivers claimed they moved loads of marijuana and cocaine for a Weslaco businessman. That's according to the recently unsealed court case against accused drug smuggler Tomas Gonzalez.

The loads ranged from 100 pounds to 7,000 pounds. The drivers described drug loads as far back as 2007. The destinations included Dallas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Iowa and North Carolina.

According to court records, four drivers had direct contact with Gonzalez by either Gonzalez hiring them, meeting with them to discuss where to deliver the loads or meeting them at the delivery site.

DPS troopers said the last truck driver caught had more than 300 pounds of marijuana. He was stopped after leaving T&F Produce in Weslaco, a business Gonzalez owns. He told authorities he was recruited by an unknown Hispanic male at a Baytown truck stop.
