The only reason this is a big deal today when it wasn't yesterday when the US Senate voted on just such a measure is because Donald Trump said it, which is why he said it, to get this issue front and center where it should have been yesterday when the US Senate voted on the Paul Amendment and it failed. It should have passed, but there was no significant media coverage of it and not enough Americans knew about it to lobby for it.

As for Jordanians and Egyptians who want to come here? So what? We have no room for them or anyone else. Our inns are full, our pot is boiling over, we don't have jobs for them without taking them away from Americans, we don't have any money for welfare which the vast majority sign up for when they get here, we can't afford them, we don't want them and we don't need them, not from Jordan, Egyp,r Mexico, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, England, Australia, Canada or from anywhere else.

My opinion of the situation is that we need a 10 to 20 year Moratorium on All Immigration, so what he's calling for is 100% fine with me, it's just not enough. We need a long-term Moratorium on All Immigration not just Muslim Immigration, all of it, to give us time to sort out this despicable disaster, deport illegal aliens, get Americans back to work, get American wages back up to a sustainable level, reduce this outrageous poverty level and the incredible cost of supporting people who can't support themselves, balance our federal budget, and pay down this outrageous national debt.

We have far bigger problems in this country than worrying about the religious sensitivities and "dreams" of people in other countries.

Well I would say most of that makes sense. Tell me, do you still favor the idea of deputizing people to make house-to-house searches in an effort to deport all the illegal aliens?

Hey now, easy friend. Nobody here is talking about any door to door searches or camps or any of that other stuff the illegal alien supporters have been throwing around.

Besides, the point of this thread is for everyone to please weigh in on how they feel about what Donald Trump has just said on this important issue. We have lot of people reading this discussion and i dont want it to digress into a tense debate.

We all know that our existing laws... adequately enforced can reverse illegal immigration just like the ALIPAC Platform advocates in detail here...

Obozo is trying to downplay any and every issue that comes up regarding the muslims. He knows his time is running short, so he will fast track anything to get more of them in before he is out. I believe Mr. Donald Trump will be the only one to effectively reverse the damage done by the unchecked illegal immigration that Obozo has enabled. Every time any media tries to knock Trump down, he gains more momentum. Maybe we are witnessing the long overdue revolution against Obozo and the establishment politicians. I certainly hope so. And I do agree that all immigration should be suspended until Obozo is out of office. ALL IMMIGRATION.

I respect your wishes on this, but in fact Judy did advocate exactly what I said she did several years ago, and I always wanted to get back to her on it but never did. But since it's off the current topic I can bring it up another time.

I agree with Trump. I do not feel that my government is capable of properly vetting anyone.

I agree with Mr. Trump. It's painfully obvious that the government can't "vet' these immigrants properly they obviously failed for the two involved in the shooting. How many more are on the loose?. I don't think it matters WHERE they come from since there are good and bad from everywhere and they aren't all going to have a stamp of approval on their forehead. We need to improve the process and check everyone until we are sure they do not mean the U.S. harm. How many times do we have to get "slammed" before we learn our lesson. Other countries don't allow free and unlimited access to their countries. Why are WE so stupid???? GO DONALD, Tell it like it is. All those candidates and politicians that are slamming him and just trying to be PC and get in line for the election. They are SO OBVIOUS. In addition, talk is cheap.

That is a lot different than what people are reading into this. There was a time when immigration from Japan was completely after the horible act at Pearl Harbor. That was not permanent and today Japan is one of our greatest allies. What Trump is suggesting is that we shut down immigration from Muslim dominated countries until we can come with a way to vet these people to determine who is safe and who is not.

Correct! And it also has nothing whatsoever to do with American Muslims, here or abroad. He made that clear in an interview with Greta tonight. He seemed in disbelief that people would even think that it did. It's about Muslim Immigration for national security issues related to terrorism, anti-US hatred, wanting to kill US and/or come here to exploit our "religious liberty laws" to live under Shariah. That's what his press release is talking about.
