Trump Speaks Directly to DACA Illegal Aliens: Democrats ‘Using You for Their Own Purposes’

During the White House news conference, Trump announced that he had signed the spending bill — which does not include funding for a new border wall, increases the Catch and Release program, and does not fundthe 1,000 new deportation agents Trump requested — and then specifically mentioned the nearly 800,000 illegal aliens who have been shielded from deportation by the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Trump said:

I can tell you this and I say this to DACA recipients that the Republicans are with you. They want to get your situation taken care of. The Democrats fought us. They fought every single inch of the way. They did not want DACA in this bill. [Emphasis added]
And as you know, DACA is also tied to the wall, for the major funding, the $25 billion for wall and other things. So I think that will be coming up very soon. But I do want the Hispanic community to know and DACA recipients to know that Republicans are much more on your side than the Democrats who are using you for their own purposes. [Emphasis added]

The Trump administration had been looking to give amnesty to DACA illegal aliens in exchange for full border wall funding and a reduction in legal immigration levels, but Democrats blocked the plan.

A DACA amnesty, though, would come with tremendous costs for American citizens.

For example, a DACA amnesty would put more citizen children of illegal aliens — known as “anchor babies” — on federal welfare, as Breitbart News reported, while American taxpayers would be left with, potentially, a $26 billion bill.


Additionally, about one in five DACA illegal aliens, after an amnesty, would end up on food stamps, while at least one in seven would go on Medicaid.

Any plan to give amnesty to DACA illegal aliens that does not also include provisions to halve legal immigration levels — the U.S. admits more than one million legal immigrants a year at the expense of America’s working and middle class — would give amnestied illegal aliens the opportunity to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the country.

At the southern border, a DACA amnesty has the potential to trigger a border surge that could triple the number of illegal aliens pouring through the border. Since DACA’s inception, more than 2,100 recipients of the program have been kicked off because they were found to be either criminals or gang members.

Trump is a chameleon. He really has no courage of his convictions. He just goes along with whomever he is with. I am very disappointed and furious with myself for voting for him. I don't think President Eisenhower went through with all this crap when he deported the illegals in the fifties. Paul Ryan is and always has been in bed with the illegals and the special interests who love them.

You're trying to do the exact same thing, Mr. President! You want to give almost 2 million of them amnesty for your promised border wall. How is that any different than the Democrats using them as a wedge issue for the 2018 elections? My point is, it is hypocritical for you to accuse them of the very thing you're doing ........ using DACA as a means to accomplish your goal.

All I heard during your campaign stops was that Mexico was going to pay for the so-called wall. Well, what have you done on that front? I haven't even seen your administration attempt to get the funding indirectly by raising green card fees on folks from Mexico, taxing remittances sent to Mexico, increases in border crossing fees, raising immigrant and non-immigrant visa fees, etc., etc.

You don't need a DACA amnesty to get funding for the border wall, Mr. President. Hmm, and there are some that actually think you're a smart man. Well, I'm sorry to say this but I don't think you're up to the challenge of dueling with the Washington swamp creatures! Your cave on the spending bill sort of proves that point.

Finger points right back at you Trump!!!

It is getting so that I can't stand looking at his smarmey face. And still we have people who will not stop making excuses for him, and that is precisely why he betrays us. Still the greater part of his base stays loyal to him. They sabotage those of us who want to pressure him into keeping his promises. He feels he can betray us and suffer no major consequences. Thus he only feels pressure from the political left and therefore he seeks to appease them and ignore us. If we were united, and most of his base threatened to desert him, he would have no choice but to fulfill his promise on DACA and then all of us could support him enthusiastically and we would all have what we want. Those blind trump defenders are hurting themselves and all the rest of us. If they would just unite with us and demand no DACA , he would have no choice but to yield to us and everybody would be happy.

There is a special kind of political hell coming for Trump as the people who voted for him learn that he lied to us and betrayed us all. Slowly, but surelye more and more Trump voters are coming to this painful understanding. And as they do, there is a specific kind of intense scorn and hatred awaiting him due to his own misdeeds.
