Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been a staunch defender of President Donald Trump, but that may have changed on Tuesday.Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been a staunch defender of President Donald Trump, but that may have changed on Tuesday.

Carlson called it a “weird scene” when Trump met with lawmakers of both parties and indicated he’d sign just about any deal they make on immigration.

“I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, gee, I want this or I want that,’” Trump said. “I’ll be signing it, because I have a lot of confidence in the people in this room that you’re going to come up with something really good.”

Trump also indicated a willingness to protect young undocumented immigrants, known as the Dreamers.
Carlson said that’s a “completely different Donald Trump” from the one that talked tough on immigration on the campaign trail.

Carlson said:

“Congress is full of people from both parties who believe that the point of our immigration policy is to provide cheap labor to their donors and to atone for America’s imaginary sins against the world.
They couldn’t care less about immigration’s effect on you or your family. Yet these are the same people the president now says he trusts to write the immigration bill, the one he will sign no matter what it says. So what was the point of running for president?”

Carlson also noted that Trump boasts about his negotiating skills.

“He clearly has skills as a negotiator,” Carlson said. “Where were they today?”

The Fox News host also said Democrats are trying to “import more Democratic voters.”

“Once they retake the Congress and the presidency ― and if Trump betrays his base on immigration, that’ll definitely happen ― it is over,” Carlson said. “Say goodbye to borders. They are done.”

If it was some diabolic plan all along to destroy the Republican Party, and the country as a whole.....mission accomplished.

Yeah...why did he run only to betray his base? This is the #1 issue to deport every last illegal alien in this Country.

Same with all the Republicans that WE voted into office!

Trump has billions...he did not need this job...why did you do it?

Walk away from the DACA DEAL. There can be NO deal whatsoever for illegal aliens.

This is what I've been trying to figure out these last couple days. I just don't get it. He might as well have driven a stake through our hearts. This is probably the biggest betrayal in American history. He will always be known as the President who destroyed America.

When your quarterback is about to get sacked, what does he do? He throws a Hail Mary and hopes his team gets the ball. We've got the ball, lets run with it and kill these gawd damn amnesty blackmail bills. Trump hasn't even been President a year yet, and he's tried 3 times to get the funds for the wall and interior enforcement. Democrats refused every time threatening government shut-downs.

Trump's had it and moved on. He can't do the wall and interior enforcement without a budget to do it with. I think he's moved on. He'll pick it up again next year when hopefully we have enough Republicans in the US Senate to pass clean bills, free of amnesty blackmail. What else can he do?!

He at least better step up ICE raids by 10,000% and get them all the hell out of here before he even thinks of signing any stupid deal.

Yes, he can do that and I think he is, but only to a degree with the personnel we have. He really needs to do an EO that authorizes state and local law enforcement officers to enforce US immigration law without threat of federal lawsuits or reprisals for doing so. There's still the logger jam in DOJ to process their deportation hearings, but maybe Sessions has some brilliant plan to achieve that without any more funding.

I sure hope so, because something needs to be done and be done NOW!

I know, it's a precarious situation, we're at a major crossroads in our struggle to solve this problem. I learned a long time ago that if you don't protect you're QB, you're in deep crap, so I think it's time we start kicking the right ass, if you get my drift.
