McALLEN, Texas—Two aliens from Mexico and a Texas border man have been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison for their role in the kidnapping and ransoming at gunpoint of four illegal immigrants.

This week, U.S. District Judge Randy Crane sentenced 39-year-old Julio Vargas, 32-year-old Gustavo Morales Manriquez, and 23-year-old Osiris Bulos Gonzalez to serve a prison term of 262 months in prison, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the U.S. attorney’s office revealed.

The sentence comes after the three men had pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy to commit hostage taking last October. Court records don’t specify if Vargas and Morales are also illegal aliens.

Authorities initially arrested the three men on February 19, 2014, after one of the illegal immigrants managed to call 911 reporting that they were being held at gunpoint at a house in the border city of Pharr, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Local police arrived at the house and detained everyone and seized a handgun that the three kidnappers had used to threaten the illegal immigrants from Mexico.

During a subsequent investigation by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, agents learned that the four illegal immigrants from Mexico had been at another stash house. They were part of a group of about 25 when they were roughly taken out of the house and moved to a different location.

Once at the new stash house, the kidnappers pointed firearms at their victims as they demanded that they call their families back home to get an additional $500, or else.
