GOP rivals hit Miller over immigration

Craig Miller’s GOP rivals in Florida’s 24th District primary are trying to cast the former Ruth’s Chris Steak House CEO as weak-kneed on the hot-button issue of border security.

Miller’s opponents are honing in on an April 2006 op-ed he wrote in the Miami Herald expressing his opposition to a get-tough immigration bill in the House and endorsed a comprehensive immigration bill that was being sponsored by Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter and Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy. Miller was chairman of the National Restaurant Association when he wrote the column.
