Agents Find 18 Immigrants Hidden in Two Trucks

SARITA, Texas -- Fourteen illegal immigrants were found in an empty grain trailer and four were found hidden in the storage area of a tractor cab during separate checkpoint inspections, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday.


None of the immigrants was injured. The drivers of both vehicles were arrested on charges of federal alien smuggling. Both vehicles were seized.

Thirteen men and one woman, all from Mexico, were discovered Saturday after a Border Patrol dog alerted to the outside of the trailer.

Three women and one man, from Guatemala and El Salvador, were found Sunday after a Border Patrol dog alerted to the cab.
