Attacks Against Border Patrol Agents Increase

MCALLEN - The U.S. Border Patrol are on the front lines of the battle against drugs in America.

Every agent knows the risk when they're going to work.

Border Patrol Spokesman Joe Trevino says that risk is higher than normal.

Since October agents have seen 34 attacks. One agent was just released from the hospital on Tuesday.

"We've had some instances where our agents have been rocked. Some instances individuals try to use their vehicle to assault an agent," says Trevino.

Trevino says the increased violence comes as Border Patrol seizes record drug loads.
