EL PASO -- Customs and Border Protection officials are urging cross-border travelers to be sure to have the right documents as the bureau plans to implement a change in travel document requirements this year.

On June 1, ports of entry will begin to adhere to the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, which will require travelers to present an approved travel document, such as a passport or border crossing card, to enter the United States.

Visit www.GetYouHome.gov for specific information on acceptable documents and how to apply for them.

This should have been done years ago. I feel that anyone that leaves the USA should have a passport. When my wife got her citizenship the first thing she did was renounce her Argentine passport through the Argentine consulate and get an American passport.

People will wait until May and then blame the government and / or government employees because they don't have time to get their passport or passport card.
    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
